if you pulled it take the whole tensioner out and you'll need a vise to recompress it. GO SLOW. or you can damage it.. once the hole lines back up put that in and your ready for Round 2

ive always used a vise.. honestly you can technically just leave it extended on the 4.7 and slowly bolt it in.

 

Shit like this is why I didn't want to do the cam seals...

 

you actually have the easy cam seals.
no VVTI actuators.. you can just unbolt your cam gears and swap em out.

 

Speaking of that, the FelPro valve cover gasket set came in earlier. I'll have the covers back on tomorrow and hopefully the intake too. Then I can refill the coolant and see if the dings I put in the radiator are actually holes...

@Empty_Lord, still off by a tooth on the crank. I was able to get the pin back in the tension but haven't installed it yet. Do I just fuck with the belt until I get the crank lined up or do I start over somewhere?

 

I line the crank up first. Then the 2 cams. Leave the tensioner out conpletely and it’ll buy you a hair more
