What would cause grease to accumulate on my calipers other than my cv joints? Does our rack and pinion have grease in their boots too?

I asked this on the fuel rails thread but does anyone know what spacers I need to run the FIC injectors on stock rails? I don’t have all the stuff for the bling rails yet.

    A small amount.

however if it looks like this then it’s a cv axel boot. Notice the black grease on the spindle D5BED8A9-36A2-4545-A012-43C084F311A1.jpg

Any idea if you install the isolators on the FIC and the ones that were on the truck? I check with 2 washers and seems to still be a lot of space. I wanted to check before I try to tighten. Im sure they just need some love but rather not guess.

n/m one of them was not seated.

since I’m going to do cam gears I assume now would be the best since I have most of the top off. for checking timing should I remove the fan now (eventually need to anyway) or can it easily be done in place?

Whats easiest way to turn the engine to line up timing? this is new for me.

Put a 22mm socket on a ratchet wrench or breaker bar and turn clockwise. Put in neutral if you have a manual. There is a notch on the crank pulley, line that up with the 0° mark on the timing chain cover. Like this:

    4457D855-8785-45EB-84AC-4E4605F4B4D0.jpg
Take your, valve cover off, make sure the timing marks on the cams line up, if they are really off, do another revolution on the crank.

For the folks that wanted to see the plugs when I pull them. I’d say they were due for a change. I’d hope it’s better than 9-10mpg. Based on the filth of the throttle body and these plugs they were not doing me any favors

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
FIC fit just fine without any adaptation on the stock rail.

I added a couple washers as noted and they seem to fit fine. Torqued them down and will connect them up after cam gears.

In the FIC thread it was suggested same photo @420taco posted. They are notably longer than the stock injectors
