    Do I need Toyota FPIG or can you use another rtv like sealant when reinstalling valve cover? About to open up the rest for SC install and no time then the present to toss the cam gears in.

    some adapter tool?

    You don't need the adapter tool. Snug the crap out of the bolt and call it good. I use the black permatex gasket maker.

    Dealer had one valve cover gasket so grabbed some fpig but good to know. I usually use permatex as well.

    Guess I misunderstood, thought it was needed but I’m ok with buying another tool. And with how it assembles I’d be fine with your method instead of torquing correctly if I didn’t have the torque adapter to get in there, but think I’d add some locktite.

    I used a 17mm box wrench and a big (and clean) pipe to remove and install. I usually like to torque engine parts to spec but didn't have the adaptor so just used some blue loctite and snugged 'er gudintite.

    Is there anything to note about this area on the passenger side? I assume remove the 2 bolts/nuts but wasn’t sure about the hoses. I tried looking it up but pretty much every write up skips to the valve cover off. wasn’t sure being the first time removing them.

    Remove the bolts. Reason being is you're 2012+ and the write up was done on 2011 and under

    Yah that’s what I figured. was trying to see if I need to remove that shit or not. It sell I take stuff I assume and no fluids?

    I assume then I just need to pry the valve cover off breaking the old gasket?

    No fluids, that's secondary air injection system. Once valve cover is free- it should pry/pop off without much resistance

    Nope. Give extra room in the engine bay. But you'd need block off plates for the exhaust.
