part of me just wants to cut it off and rebuild the frame with fresh boxed steel honestly if I even get to do that kind of work again to Frank.

I feel for ya man. I am so fortunate to have the space to work on her and friends who are willing to come over and make a fun wrenching session.

Who said anything about loosing the bed? Give me a chance to mount it better and not cave in so much.

And figure out a bed cage/fuel cell setup for LT rear of some sort. I don't want a crawler. I wanna go fast as hell.

Sure it would. Cut off the stock C channel BS. Weld in some new heavier duty C channel. Weld some nuts in there like a man instead of some damn spot welds. Bam. Just like stock.

 

maybe. Be hard to weld a nut in there though haha

 

Really if you just left if open on the ends you'd be good. Could get a wrench in there at least. Make some caps out of plastic or rubber.

 

Hanger? They are the same as the rear. Its a channel and just rests on the two perches one for each frame side.

 

Hey when the go fast nest happens I am the short bed prototype.

 

Hoping to have my bed off this week and start finalizing my design for bed crossmembers. It will involve drilling through the bed.

 

Might need to modify your swingout to get some clearance.

 

I wouldn't call that a "hanger" by any means...but either way. The concept could work just fine as stated before for either mount.
