Here's how to switch your 2020 and up Tacoma radio knobs to Rav4 knobs.

If you hate your small factory 2020+ knobs like I did...change them. Easy!

If your radio looks like mine, this will work. If your radio does not look like mine, you're out of luck.

Order the OEM Toyota part number shown in the photo at the end. You will need two.

To install, pull your old knobs off. Just grab and pull straight out. Then pop out the black plastic piece on the inside of the new Rav4 knobs.

You can use a small pair of needle nose to grab the black piece, or just use your hands. The black piece will pop out easily. Then the Rav4 knobs will slide right onto your radio.

The Rav4 knobs are larger, have rubber grip, and they are back-lit. Win.

Here's the pictures and the part number at the end.

    ‐--------------------------------------------------------

Factory 2020 knobs. Too small. Hard to use while driving.

Rav4 knob after removing black plastic piece. It comes out very easily. It's clipped in. Just grab the protruding black edge of the plastic. Use small needle nose or your hands.

Pull your old knobs off. Take the new knobs and align the Rav4 knob into your radio. It has a flat side so just get the orientation correct and press it on. Repeat for the other knob. You're done!

About $16 per knob, but you can easily find them online for $11-12 per knob plus shipping.

They were on national back order until maybe a week ago. Should be in stock now.

I tend to only use the steering wheel controls. I do think those knobs look much better than the stock ones though.

If only I could switch the volume up and down buttons to the up and down position on the steering wheel controls. Lol.

    Looks good OP!

guess the 2020 radios are diff to let a backlit shine through unlike the previous years.

If you did that. Wouldn't you need to switch your head unit so the volume up/down display be linear with the controls?

Good find OP, I have a 19 rav4 out in the driveway. Going to try and see if it works on my 17 taco.

Only adjust the volume when you are making a sharp left turn. :)

    Awesome thinking.

I use the steering wheel controls 99% of the time but I know others don’t. Props for coming up with this!
