Nope, ez pz. Clean the throttle plate and air flow meter while you're in there!

Funny I just asked this question in another thread.

so do you just move it to the side? I’m swapping cam gears and want to give it a good cleaning. says remove 12 bolts seems to be the last ones here.

(2012+) The air valves just unbolt, there's a hidden 12mm below it bolted to the head thats a bastard.

I also unbolt the studs with the torx bit to help remove them quicker.

While they are out clean them with WD40 to remove any possible water and carbon build up.

Don't worry about the metal exhaust gaskets on the air valves as they are re-useable.

Good looking out. I was trying to figure out how to get that thing off. The hidden 12mm makes sense. Also good to know it unbolts and comes off. I wasn't sure since every how to has been 05-11. Thats the idea when they are off, install new 3 degree cam gears and give the covers a good once over with some cleaner.

Also good tip unbolting the studs. With the limited room that will make it easier than wiggling it back and forth.
