    Mevotechs come out to 452.58

    Anyone run the mevotechs?

Can you confirm spc replacment ball joints work in them?

I'm running Mevotechs. They are repackaged SPCs. Ball joints have the SPC logo and include SPC instruction sheet.

They are the older design with zinc plated ball joint housing and urethane bushings. Might be inventory clearout.

SPC style offer more adjustability is why they got my money, when I ran fixed uppers like jba I was going to need a CMC & I didn't want to do that, with my SPC's I fit 34's & I'm still running my factory mudflaps

No. Earlier SPC design had urethane/polyurethane bushings like most other competing designs from All-Pro, Total Chaos, Icon, etc. Current SPC design switched over to ball flex joints (similar to johnny joints). There are also other minor changes like a 1-piece forged arm and better coating on the ball joint housing.

25001 is for Tacoma (all years), 3rd gen 4Runner and 1st gen Tundra. 25002 is for 4th gen and later 4Runner/FJ. Different taper size for the ball joint stud.
The SPC/Mevotech UCAs are as beefy as any of the competing brands but offer independent camber- and caster adjustment. This means I can set the LCA cam bolts to max caster to maximize tire clearance, then dial camber and caster to spec with the UCA. With a digital level, it's possible to do DIY alignment on any level surface:

Toe accuracy this way is about +/- 0.14 deg, using a ruler with millimeter markings.

Ok so if i buy some spcs for the +600 they sell for at full price they will be one forged piece?

    Thats kewl to know...

Not something their website says... (i have a 3rd gen t4r)

But If i buy mevotechs its likely i will just get some old spcs

How long have you been running them and what size tire are you running?

Correct. No real benefit in the one-piece forging - all the competing designs are multi-piece welded.

The Mevotechs come with greaseable ball joints as shown in my photo.

Looks to be outdated photo. The really early SPC design lacked a zerk fitting on the ball joint. Because the ball joint is common with 3rd gen Tacomas, you're unlikely to get one today without the zerk fitting.

If you ask me pay the 50 bucks for an energy suspension bushing kit and keep the ones you have... did it to my tacoma and doing it again on my 4 runner

Ok sounds good I’ll rebuild mine w those bushings. Thanks sorry for changing the subject. I need to read up more on the UCAs/alignment before I buy mine.
