Will we lose good sensation?

Hi Do you think with the new 09 tacoma we will lose some good sensation compared to the 08 because of the new electronic "safety" features like vsc or other, for example spinning the wheels, play hard with the truck... What do you think? Have you compared the both?

 

should be able to trun them all off manualy. my buddy's '07 tundra has all that crap on it. they usualy give a button to turn off traction control "TRAC", but on his tundra if you turn off the TRAC button, then push it again and hold it for 3-5 secdonds...it turns off the Stability Nanny too. i'm not a big fan of the government or manufacturers "saving me from myself" none of those "safety" options on my '06 Taco.

 

I've noticed that the american website mentions the button to turn off the traction control... but the Canadian website doesn't mention it. Does anyone know if the Canadian trucks have the button?

 

In the manual it says to push and hold the VSC button (vehicle with squiggly lines under) for 3 second, this will disable the VSC and TRAC control. Thats in the Canadian 09 manual, pg 186.

Does this mean one legged burnouts? I haven't tried it yet, will the 4.0 auto lay rubber?

 

Dont think it 'kills' the fun completely seeing you can bypass, and no doubt its 'safer' for reg driving, but fooling around with buttons would get old quick (thinking daily to get up my icy driveway). I'll be trying the nannies to their limit in my buddy's new 09' next week in the Adirondacks. All ice/snow covered roads should be a good test vs my 05.

 

i'm all for being safe, but i prefer to drive in a safe manner rather than rely on someone's idea of being safe. what ever happened to just learning how to drive? damn insurance companies. speaking of which...if you are involved in an accident, and the vsc or trac has engauged just prior to the wreck...is the truck responsible?? i hope this truck lasts a long time...i don't want a new one.

 

everything there can always be turned off...or disconnected.
I say as long as you can turn it off, it's good to have.

 

I'd like to know if anyone's figured out a way to turn off the VSC and keep it off (untill you turn it back on) instead of having to do it every time you start the vehicle.

 

Pull the fuse... or something like that...
