It's like Miguel; you forget they have a Tacoma and just figured they're here just to be here.

oh no, THIS hobby isn't all that expensive. These are pretty cheap foam airplanes, and pretty small scale. Single most expensive is my $500 450 size heli.

    All relative tho.

    2014-09-26_103630.jpg

Single most expensive "hobby" I have is probably camping. $35k for a 4Runner and $25k for a travel trailer, plus the solar and cooking setups, etc...

Yeah, this plane was like $270 or something, so I bought 2 of them (a 3D biplane, too). I don't count the batteries and charging system and radio since I already had those with my helis.

I did my time with a 3/4 length ultra-light thermarest, a 1.5 person tent and a toothbrush with holes drilled in it. I'm over that shit.

I got 2 kids now, too. They get bunkbeds.

I still have a good sized tent that I pack for trips with the 4x4 (haven't gone the RTT route... maybe one day...).

Yeah, I kind of wished I got into other stuff beforehand.

Already went through my RC phase; I didn't go planes or rock crawlers but instead 2wd and 4wd buggys and truggys, running on indoor tracks, outdoor bashing, etc.

Norcal Hobbies has a warehouse with a nice big indoor track that they change every few months. That's how I got into it.

Sold them awhile back on here, or another forum I forget, and only kept my 1:8 scale brushless, 6S lipo RC.

I totally used to groan at the folks with their big class A's rolling into a campsite. Wife and I are sitting there waiting for our little whisperlite to heat a pot of water to cook some dried beans. Dude next door pushes a button to roll out his awning and sat TV system, and wife pulls pork chops out of the oven...

We eventually upgraded to a popup trailer and had that for several years.

We haven't quite progressed to the yuge Class A stage, but our trailer does have a motorized awning... :anonymous:

We specifically didn't get a larger trailer for a couple reasons (needing a bigger truck for one), but it was mostly so we could still fit in all the campsite we like to go to. I see so many class As and big trailers trying to squeeze into small sport, or even maneuver in some of these campgrounds that are pretty tight, even for the 17' winnie we have.
