Upgrades to the 20’ Taco

I recently traded my 2018 TRD Off-road LB for the new 2020 TRD PRO! I personally am super happy with the decision.
But it could use a few parts it’s currently missing. My last Taco had the hard trifold tonneau cover which I really liked! Thanks to Facebook market place I was able to get hooked up with a fairly new one cheap off a 2019 Taco.
I also just ordered the LED truck bed light kit as well as the following.


Parts should be in sometime today, I’m hoping.

 

Congrats! As much as I would love to have the new LED headlights and android/Apple carplay, im going to hold tight until the 4th gen or announcement that toyota is going to discontinue the 6spd manual and I'll likely order the last of its breed. Still love my 2017 and don't have any plans to unload it quite yet!

 

I’m curious if anyone else has installed any of these parts and if they had any install advise. Particularly if you ran into any unforeseen issues.

 

So I got the bed light kit, listed for the 2020, and it looks like the main harness did not come with the kit. Look great though. Anyone else do this upgrade? Need the part number for the Harness.

 

Remove the tail lights, 2020's are pre-wired.

Did all the same mods (and others) on our 2020 Pro except the OEM bed cover. Your light kit is correct. Do yourself a favor and download the instructions to everything if you don't have them already.

 

I don’t currently have them. Are they here on the forums or is there a web site you use.

You'll definitely want them for the power tailgate lock and door sills as well. If your dealer website does not list them, look around and see there are many that do.

I did use the painters tape on the paint by the rear taillights as is suggested. The first time they are removed, you have to pull on the lights pretty hard so best to protect the body.

Congrats on the new truck! Funny thing is, those are literally the first things I ordered for mine as well. Everything is straight forward. Tailgate just takes time to route the wire. There's a link for the instructions somewhere. If you need it, let me know. The door sill protectors, I just lined up with the plastic panel that is adjacent to it.
