Ah see I meant they would work the same as in with rect channel with access from the ends. Not talking about how they mount up to the frame. That part would obviously have to remain the same or similar. Though if it was a new frame section I'd likely build my own tabs off the frame that bolt to the new bed connections anyways so nothing would go through the frame.

 

It is getting modified here in couple hours.

 

Building a new frame from scratch? Yeah right.

The basic shape/idea is not that bad, but then look at all the things you need to add/mount/get in exactly the right place.

 

And Mike,

I would leave something on the back of the frame there to help keep it square while you're working on it. You could even just weld a scrap piece of tubing across the top.

 

Not that much stuff really.

Fuel stuff. Brake lines. Basic wiring. Bed mounts. Exhaust stuff.

All easy stuff really. Only part that would take real work is the bed I think and the rear shock mounting and if you're keeping leaf springs.

Certainly not a small project but I'd bet it would be easier than your front core support project.

 

I'm wondering if just putting the bumper back on would be enough. What do you think? Could also just put the tire hanger crossmember (or both) back on too. We took them off thinking access would be much easier.

Either one would be fine. Or put one back on, and weld a temporary tube in.

Going to be getting rid of the purple parts truck in the next couple months, likely hauling to the scrapyard. You have any interest in it? No cost, you can have it if you think there is anything you want off it.

Yep, moving on. Going to be getting this place ready to rent by fall hopefully. Clean it up and get my business stuff off to one side.

In other news. Tearing into Igor a bit. Cold outside though. But inspection shows coil buckets are good.

Thinking of doing gussets this early summer.

Going to pull the lbjs. Have had some interesting developments with that so excited to look at mine closer. Then have new lower heims as well.

 

Kind of, going to be moving back up to the house in Lander. So not really new, but will be ours to make our own.

Welp, think i have another fuzed bolt to a shock damn it. hands are froze, deal with it later.

 

It spins fine, but so do the misalignments on the lower bolt.

 

yep. Spins fine. But the misalignments spin as well. Spun it and beat on it for a while. Nothing. Likely have to cut it out like I did last time.

 

I did. On everything. Not sure why it happened. Will once I cut it out Im sure.
