Do special ordered trucks qualify for Toyota "customer cash" offers?

The whole "$1000 customer cash back; must take delivery from dealer stock by blah blah blah...."

Because Toyota's ordering just puts "your" truck in their regular scheduled allocation delivery, I would assume that once it arrives it's considered part of "dealer stock" and would qualify for all the various special offers, right?

Dealer isn't going to say "we special ordered this for you, so it doesn't qualify for the Toyota special offers"?

From what I know, you need to take delivery of the truck by the end of the deal deadline to qualify. So if your lead time is long you might be sol. I could be wrong though.

It's my understanding that there are no special orders but dealers may request vehicles that are expected to arrive at the distributor. I recently put a small amount down on a new Tacoma and since it it not expected until April, I was told that April incentives would apply.

It will qualify for whatever offers are available when it arrives and you pay for it.

Do you have a dealer? It’s nothing but a phone call. Not a forum post.

Also, according to my dealer, there’s no true ordering for a specific truck. The factory won’t build one just for you. There’s just likely one with the exact features you want already planned to be built then your dealer tries to get it shipped to them versus wherever it was destined for.

Yes that is the way it is. You don't actually get to "custom order" one, more so you just put in to get the truck sent to your dealer when they get around to building the config you want. For most configs, they'll likely build something in the next 6-8 weeks that fits your order.

I've ordered one in the past and have one on order right now, so I have some experience with it. I've asked the dealer/saleperson and he's told me both times that they can't "sell" it to me until they have it on the lot officially, so I'm beholden to whatever deals exist when it comes in.

Ordered a 2WD Sport and a manual Pro in Sept
    - Pro arrived in 2 months and the Sport arrived in 3 months
    - Discounted price negotiated at time of order
    - Additional discount for Toyotathon was applied upon delivery

    Perfect, thanks.

Looks like they have some sort of 'customer cash' offer each month, varying from $1000-1500, and also a regular $500 recent graduate incentive.

Just hoping they continue the programs in May when my truck arrives.

Do they really "special order" anymore? I think all they do is look through the builds of trucks and find the one that fits your needs. Otherwise we would be able to order as we want rather than the packages and trims they supply. "Special Order" vehicles are extinct.

I just placed an order for a Tacoma yesterday and expect delivery mid to end of April. It's not so much a "special order" as it is a deposit on a truck they already have coming in. Whatever the incentives are for the month you buy the truck and actually take ownership(for me it's April) of the vehicle are what you get. Not When you placed the "order" or put the deposit down. Hope that helps.

Any ideas of next months incentives will be better than this months?

This happened to me when I ordered my truck. I ordered it on March 29th, and it was delivered on April 10. At the time, Toyota of Northern California had offered $1500 cash back if purchased by the end of March. Because I had not officially purchased the truck on March 29th, but only put down the required $500 to order it, when it came in, and I officially signed the papers, and paid cash for the vehicle, they were no longer offering the $1500 cash back, but only $1000. From what I understand, it is a matter of when you pay for it and the offers that are on the table at the time.

The Feb customer cash in the Gulf States region for a 2020 Tacoma was $1000, this month it's $1500... so hoping April/May will either stay at $1500 or increase.

If the truck you want isn't already arriving in a scheduled allocation, they can submit an "allocation request" to the distributor to have the desired vehicle added to the dealership's allocation of trucks. For mine, I wanted an Offroad with manual trans, but the Gulf States dealers never get those in their allocation so the dealer had to make a special request for it. Then the distributor has to approve the request, I'm guessing the distributor will then talk to Toyota about making the allocation change, and eventually the desired truck will be routed to the requesting dealership.

That just proves my point! No special order vehicles. They make a specific number of combinations and that's it. When the Mustang first came out, the options list was long. You could add as you saw fit. Now it is "This is what we make, take it or leave it!"

    working on it!
Mine did and it worked out great.

And I agree that there is no real special order. My dealer intercepted an MGM build with some options pre-configured. I was able to delete the things I didn't want; they refused to add anything for me. Since I didn't want much, it was fine.

When the truck was delivered, there was a "Toyota Cash Back" program, which they deducted from my price.
