That may be part of it but it’s a compromise not the dirt and water the truck sees.

I hear ya... But the snorkel messes up tuning period. Whether stock or modified. On another note, the MAF sensor not being cleaned is a main contributor to bad MPGs.

Yah that’s the first thing I checked. Gave it a good cleaning. Seems to kind of work but settled back down. So we’ll see after throttle body cleaning and new plugs. Won’t be apples to apples since I’m also going down the boosted rabbit hole.

we’ll see how things go or what I can do but for now the snorkel stays. I will be trying to get a better intake setup to help.

I do like that one bit for that reason aside from CA I did not. I have had my truck pretty deep that would have been all bad with that one. I’m lucky it didn’t suck it in the stock location (pre snorkel)

What do you guys think? Should I do the pulleys/belts first or install the CSF first? next was cam gears but I need to get another valve gasket before I fully complete.

when replacing with the NST pulleys anything to watch out for in terms of alignment?

do the pulley stuff first. having a new radiator in the way wouldnt be my first choice.

Would it be better to do cam gears first or doesn’t matter? Since I need another gasket figured I’d continue with the rest

just spend the last hour taking my BAMF skids off. bullet proof but man they are pain to remove

The only potential downside to doing everything at once is if there’s any issues it will make troubleshooting more difficult.

I was thinking about that. I was thinking about leaving stock pulleys on to start but still be doing cam gears. But On the other hand is it’s open why not now. I could forgo the CSF but radiator will already be drained. Which isn’t bad but getting all the armor off is a chore itself.

Any potential issues I should keep an eye out for?

Sweet Jesus how long did you have those things in for? They look ROASTED! You do know that the OE naturally aspirated plugs are coppers right?

And I second, or third or fourth, the craftsman 5 ton puller. I look forward to needing a new tool, even if it's only for one job. I buy a good one, then I'll have it forever.

Had to drop my other head off to get valve guide replace when I bent my valve. Not something I could do my self. But friend of a friend got it done for $35. And now gotta get this motor back together. Spring is almost here and have a lot to do.

Yah about damn time! had to juggle family today but decent progress this weekend. Skids off, engine/radiator drains and fan removed today. Didn’t get as much done as I wanted to. shooting for firing it up next weekend.
