It can be nice to have on longer road trips.

But I don't do that so often. And lack of cruise keeps me more alert.

It's nothing I'd pay extra for - not missing it on my mule.

    yes
Haven't driven the Taco in CC enough to know how well it works, but the one in my 04 Chevy TrailBlazer (4.2L I6 = 270 HP) is awesome. I can go from the valley floor (about 7,500 feet) over the pass (about 10,500 feet) without changing speed even the slightest.

just about black everything. i don't dig the chrome.
i feel like i have no control with cruise on.

i know people say it helps them not speed, but if you don't have the situational awareness to not speed, you probably shouldn't be on the road!

I've been using CC a lot more since I had the gas pedal recall and ECU reflash done. It seems to work a lot smoother since then and I can gain 2mpg by using it on the freeway.

I've got a 35 mile drive to work and 12 miles of it is up and down very twisty steep roads where I can't use cruise control. The other 18 miles is freeway with the cruise control set. My mileage has increased overall from 20 up to 22 miles per gallon since I started using CC!

It's nice to have on long drives on a flat highway but yeah I don't like the constant downshifting/upshifting. Unnecessary wear for the transmission.

it sucked when i had my 97 taco, i would turn it, flip it up to set and it would take a good 5 -10 minutes for it to finally kick in...and when it was on, it wouldnt keep the same engine speed, you would lightly feel the engine rev up, then back down, rinse repeat

took it to the dealer, they said nothing was wrong with it

back when i had my v6 altima, the cc on it was a champ, drove all the way to texas without the speed ever moving

the cc on the tacos now is kinda iffy, its nice to have, but i wouldnt swear by it..

I love the feature and use it almost everyday. I'm still in school and have to drive on the highway everyday to get there and use it on a daily basis.

Same for me. Especially after the gas pedal ECU reflash.

    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
I've had fairly good luck maintaining a steady throttle with out using the cc. I only tried it to see that it worked.
I don't like to give up control of the vehicle.

With a manual transmission, my CC works great. However, you can't feel the road conditions like pressing on the gas pedal. I learned the hard way not to use it during the Winter months. I was travelling with the CC on and the road got icy. It was hell getting the damn thing off when the rear end started to go out from under me. I managed to turn it off - but not before doing a 360 across three lanes. The truck was fine. My shorts were soiled.
