It’s Matt’s company shop (3D Offroad). Super nice guy- I recommend him for anything honestly.

And my Leer cap is great! It was originally red when I bought it used but I had a local company in VA paint to to match. Had it on for a couple years now and no issues with water leaking in or anything

Thanks for the info! I didn't know of Matt's place until just now. May have to stop by sometime.

I can't decide between a soft topper or a cap. What are your thoughts?

For my current situation, I needed the extra security for all my stuff, which is why I went with a cap since I don’t have access to a garage to store my stuff when I’m not going on trips. If I did have a place to store my stuff, I probably would have went with a soft topper and only put it on when I’m going on trips. Plus it saves a ton of weight. The cap itself is probably around 200 pounds

Yeah I see the weight as being the biggest down side. I've already accepted the fact that I'd probably have to upgrade my leaf pack. I'm just running a AAL right now.

Yeah I’d recommend getting stiffer leaf pack. Right now I’m running Darkar HDs that can support 660lb constant load over stock weight. This weekend I just added the specific AAL to that leaf pack to give it .5 inch more lift since I’m running a cab, decked system, bumper, and all my gear which is around 750lb more in the rear. Still giving me I think right around 2-3 inches of lift if the rear. My King shocks also help since I increase the stiffness of them with the adjuster knob in the back

Truck is finally out of the shop! Tons of work done to it. Installed 4.88 gearing, rear ARB locker, OME AAL, SS extended brake lines, added amber Baja Designs fog lights, replaced a busted wheel sensor, put on the new rear bumper, and many other small stuff!

Still need to wire up the license plate lights, tidy up some misc wiring underneath the truck, install the jerry can holder to the bumper, and align the bumper to follow the trucks body lines better. Can’t wait for this baby to finish up it’s break in period with the new gearing

Love this build man! I'm waiting on my check Thursday to get a Warfab HC rear bumper so it'll be installed in time for Moab next month. Where in springs are you and where are you stationed? I'm also stationed out here for the AF

Makes total sense haha. I fly just south of Schriever a couple times a week heading to our training area boxes east of there.

Well, due to unprecedented events, I had to drive back to VA and I don’t know when I’ll be coming back to Colorado. Sure going to miss the mountains. Hopefully, it’ll only be a couple months

Also shocked I still had clearance to fit into the old garage. Crazy how close it was

Decided to do a quick full axle dump. Also threw on some engine enamel paint- probably won’t last, but at least it looks good (for now)
