Looking for AAL recommendations. Running the stock 3rd gen TRDOR(LB) suspension and wheels. Just got a shell and carry a couple hundred pounds of gear always.

I have read through a few threads and understand there's the 2 basic options of:

a 3-leaf pack - better ride, may sag over time?

or a single leaf pack - better for loads, less likely to sag.

Any specific brand recommendations or other thoughts, considerations, etc. What's best?

    Thank you

So you think a full replacement pack is a better idea than AAL?

For my cap I went with OME elo95 which is the medium duty pack.
With the weight of some gear in the bed, sliders and full armor those springs are sagging. I just purchased the OME add a leaf which I guess makes it the heavy pack to support the weight.

Did the AAL correct the sag?

AAL will work. Ride will be rougher.
However when you start adding other things into the shell/onto truck it will not perform well. Then you'll be searching for full leaf packs.

Hold out for full pack before putting a band-aid(AAL) on it.

Thanks. Any suggestions for full leaf packs which will provide a decent ride and correct sag? I know there's Icon, Dakar, OME. Those are the main ones I know of but don't know the quality differences.

I went with the Icon full leaf. I used all eight leaves with my build and it works great. Comfortable ride. It isn’t harsh at all. But I am also running their reservoir shocks. It gave me about 1.5” lift with all the crap and addons to the truck. I’d guess I was pushing 800-900lbs to the truck if you count the front bumper with winch, sliders, skids, shell and buildout plus gear. The icons come with 8 leaves. Six are standard and then you can add the extra leaves as needed based on your constant weight. They have a chart on their website.

If you don’t want the expense, a three leaf progressive add a leaf would probably do you just fine and give you a decent ride.

    This was my old build.

I have an almost identical bed setup to @AverageGuyTaco but I have Headstrong 3 leaf add a leaf. I wound up having to put my overload spring back in after a few months, to maintain ~2 inches of lift. I will definitely be replacing this setup with full leaf packs in the relatively near future. Just go with full leaf packs now.

The stock Toyota leafs are garbage and belong in the garbage.

With a cap, the best solution will be a full replacement leaf pack.
