The office where I work (Pier 39) in SF is one of the last major tourist attractions left open in the country, we outlasted Disneyland.

I was talking to an employee at the Hard Rock Cafe and they told me they were seating everyone 8 feet apart. Just crazy.

Thank god my vacation time kicked in. I have the next two weeks off.

This is what I don't get, it's not going away. Not sure why the panic. I get why they are trying to slow it but it's not going to stop.

People need to get used to the idea that this gonna be around forever, unless a cure is found soon. Just like chickenpox, h1n1, flu, whatever. If it happens, oh well not much you can do about it except ride it out and relieve symptoms the best you can.

The idea is that if we shut down social gatherings and places where the public convenes, we may stop the spread of it enough to bring us out of this 'shutdown/quarantine' mentality.

Honestly I don't think it'll work 100% and it'll take a lot longer than a couple weeks. They're probably just announcing it in 2 week increments to keep people from freaking out at the thought of things being closed for months or 'indefinitely'.

lol there wont be a cure or vaccination for a long time. The whole "2 weeks" or " month off" shit is just to avoid the virus explosion. No one thinks this will only be a couple weeks issue, this will be a problem for the U.S. likely for the next 3-7 months.

People are still being fuckwads as is with their infections. Seeing stories of people flying and then telling passengers after the flight they tested positive. And today read an article some cruise ship ported and dumped mfs in florida where someone had tested positive onboard. Recirculating the air in the cabins overnight spreading it all, and then release the virus bombs into society.

we all aren't going to die from it. The secondary effects are what's the scary part of this ordeal. The economy, stocks, finances, healthcare system from overload with infected patients, restaurants and businesses, and even trading with countries. It's all going upside down from it

Sorry dude, that sucks. I imagine the tourism industry is pretty much tanked entirely from this

A lot of people right now are out of work and I doubt a lot of them had much of a rainy day fund set aside, knowing how most people in LA live anyway. Majority of millennials have less than $1000 set aside for emergency. That's truly frightening. Gonna be a lot of young and middle aged adults moving back in with mom and dad or other family.

I would think that a lot of people out of work right now would be going to the grocery stores looking for extra work. I'm sure they could use it with how busy they are and needing to restock constantly

kind of happy I didn't get too greedy and jump for a new job now, since healthcare seems to be the only non-risky business for closure. Hope all u can make it thru this, nobody deserves to be with the secondary effects of this virus

I would think the grocery business is doing well too lol. But yeah definitely healthcare. And probably other public services are going to be ok, aside from getting stretched thin. Also people are still going to need plumbers, electricians, HVAC, etc.

There’s a certain person in my state trying to give all adults 1000$ to get through. Can be seen on KSL

Oooooooh I know what you're talking about. I thought you meant it was some Utah resident doing it for other Utah residents lol.

Yeah no more of that subject
