I work in the tourism industry and we were the first to go. My whole company was laid off today.

Thanks. The city is like a ghost town with everything going on. One of our offices was in Pier 39 which is the second largest tourist attraction in the state next to Disneyland, walking around you just saw a bunch of waiters and store employees twiddling their thumbs. We actually outlasted Disneyland, which is funny.

 

People collect books though and editions matter to collectors. So at least there is a reason for that example.

the seal is supposed to be flush with the face by the blue arrow. i drove it in way to far. installed a new seal in the proper location and no leaks. (knocks on wood)

also, got the rebuilt cv in, so this is nice.

noticed the outboard dust seals are shot. toyota wants $30 and $40 for the inner and outer seals. f that s.

 

The price of an out of print book really has nothing to do with the price of "essential supplies" during a "declared state of emergency."

 

But the increase is driven by Amazon's pricing tools, not "collectability".

 

Don't the people selling used things set their own prices? Maybe I'm not understanding how all that works.

 

The prices at Amazon rise and fall with the tide.

Well I may not be back in NorCal, but at least I'm back in a Tacoma.

The bank is going to split our staff. One week on. One week off. The new branch will not be opening either. They are working on finding a way to keep us compensated. They take care of their employees

 

I'm at the Safeway in Alameda right now. It's pretty crazy. Thankfully people are relatively calm, but still.

 

Costco at San Leandro was packed....way to spread the virus there...

Safeway was alright but most shelves are empty...

Looks like the Bay Area is in "slight" lockdown now.....

They really need to suspend mortgage payments and rent... otherwise people are going to default....

 

Work just got the final notice from the county that we are to shutdown for 3 weeks and stay home. We’re diverting our floating holidays then its bye bye all my saved vacation days

 

they should also push back tax deadline already

 

Phew.

I’m officially considered an “Essential Service” by our state governing board.

I was kinda(but not really, but really) bummed to hear that I can’t tell all my customers that I need to adhere to latest lockdown by our governing body.
