what alarm system do you guys have on your tacos?

They’re all annoying and useless. That being said, I prioritize Viper alarm systems

To answer the OPs question, I recently had a break in so wanted an alarm , a deterrent. There's been chronics stealing catalytic and random smash and steal. I've made a habit of not leaving ANYTHING in truck and locking tailgate. So, after alarm installed, I noticed the truck bed had no protection since impact sensor is in the cab. Adding an extra sensor fixed that. Perimeter sensor will just piss off people especially when you park in malls. Thieves will move on to easy targets. They'll tap the glass to check for alarm.
People sucks at parking . Now I don't need to do a walk around when I disarm. Along with dash cam and alarm, not perfect but if they want it that bad, it'll happen. Just make sure you have full insurance coverage.

 

Alarms these days can add a lot of options but it can get costly. Mine wasn't fancy. I didn't want a 2 way to tell me alarm has been triggered. WTF are you gonna do? Run to your car everytime its triggered? Just make sure there's good reviews on that shop. I'm a bit OCD so I told them " NO DRILLING ANYWHERE and wires tucked best you can". The shop had mostly 5 star reviews and install came out perfect. I hate drama. Like I said in previous post . You need extra impact sensor for tuck bed. Now, just tapping on the tailgate triggers it.

 

That's more of a "worth breaking into" sticker than anything.

 

This day and age it's more of a "I'm wearing a pistol" sticker, lol

 

Not like they’re going to break into it while you’re inside it.

 

Stock alarm and insurance...as previously stated. If people want something badly enough, they'll take it. If you want to go the extra mile, you could throw a kill switch in or a GPS locator.

Quality insurance, let them take it. Insurance can cover your mods as well depending on your policy. My USAA one covers up to 5k in mods as their standard.

 

Agreed, I wouldn't kill over a vehicle, unless family is inside.. Fully insured here...

 

No, just says it honks louder. But odds are higher that someone with a firearms sticker will own a firearm, and since many probate places don't allow Gibbs, chances are high that there's a free Glock in the glovebox. Why advertise that? Even if you do have it on you, they'll be long gone before you can take the elevator to the first floor and run out to the parking lot to use that Glock.

 

No parking structures or elevators where I live... Next
