Why do people replace the floor mats ?

    When you say factory floor mats I assume you’re talking about what comes with the truck when it’s made. Sounds like you’re talking about the Toyota branded all weather mats. I’m happy with the Toyota all weather mats. I actually really like the way the new version of them look as well.


    Those are the old style, they are different now.

    I got the weathertech's a few years ago. The one negative I have about them is the snow that collects, melts, swishes around and eventually spills over onto the carpet. I've learned it's a good idea to keep an old towel nearby to absorb the water.

    Also, any tips on cleaning them? Scrubbing with soap and water barely did anything, but I've had my truck detailed and they've come back looking brand new.

    Weather tech floor liners, not mats, are pretty deep. If you spend a lot of time in dirty terrain getting in and out and in the winter with slush and junk melting off your boots regular floor mats don’t catch all that. Falls right off the edge. The floor liners act as a little tub you can’t take out and spray off in the spring ha. Just revealed how often I clean my trucks.

    How much snow are you collecting? Ya gotta at least knock off a little before you turn your footwells into a lake. Regards to cleaning, soap and water...maybe not even soap, but a good brush. They're floor mats not paint

    I really liked the look of my carpet mats, but a single weekend of doing truck shit and hauling dogs tends to trash them.

    I just upgraded to the Gator liners. I bought them strictly because they say "Gator" in big red letters across the door sill.

    Do the weather tech lock in on the driver's side? Do they slide less on the passenger side? My OEM rubber mats have been fine, but a bit more coverage would be nice. And ones that stay put on the passenger side.

    I bought Husky X-Act because I live in a snowy, icy, salty, sandy climate and the oem mats definitely could not keep all that shit off the carpets. They would ice up really badly underneath the pedals causing some less than favourable/safe movement.
