It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
No regrets. I was driving 45 miles each way.

Hey guys, I'm back from school for the rest of the semester... This stuff is crazy.

My accident from a month or so ago is starting to rust a bit. I am getting a high clearance bumper, but I am still looking around to find one that I can get more immediately (rather than waiting 4 months for mobtown).

First off, what should I do about this rust in the mean time before I get the new bumper?

Also, does anyone know anyone selling a high clearance bumper??

Flirting with the idea of grabbing some new wheels and tires so checking local to see if anyone is interested in grabbing my set of 4 285/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler MTRs (11/32" tread on all 4) and Stealth Custom Series F5 (bronze, 3.5" backspacing, -25mm offset, minor case of rock rash), with all lugs and key. Would prefer to sell wheels/tires together. $900 OBO, PM me if interested.

I might be interested. Ever since a wise man once told me "A TRD skid plate might not be enough" the wheels have been turning in my head! I'd only be interested in the tires though so I can mount them on my Pro rims, and I know you'd prefer to package the tires and rims, but thought I'd still reach out.

The other thing I'm thinking about is the Revtek 427AP kit which is a 1.5" lift in the front and rear (spacer in the front that requires the coil to be compressed and add-a-leaf in the rear) to give the 33's some breathing room. I've been reading about this kit on the forum and there seem to be a lot of good reviews. Do you know anything about it? I like the Fox's that came with my Pro and would like to reuse them, but want to make sure adding a spacer up front wouldn't be bad for the suspension or have other unintended consequences. I suspect I may need to reconfigure the bump stops but not sure, still in the research phase to be honest.
    https://www.revtek.com/vehicle-sele...31-toyota/2016-2019-tacoma/673-kit-427ap.html

So those are the thoughts I've been having since last week's flag pole run. My wife is having breast cancer surgery two weeks from today with a 2 week recovery, so realistically I'm probably a month out from pulling the trigger, but couldn't help myself in responding when I saw you're putting up for sale the same size tires I've been thinking about. If you find a buyer in the meantime, I totally understand.

How is the road noise on the MTRs BTW? I understand they will be a little noisier than my Wranger A/Ts, but just want to make sure I don't get something that sounds like the snow tires my dad used to buy. :) The truck is primarily a DD for me, and the extra noise won't necessarily be an issue for me, but want to make it wouldn't be an issue for the occasional road trip I might take with the wife.

Sorry for the long reply and unsolicited advice, I'm new to all this and still trying to dial in what I want to do.

Meant to PM this and realize I broadcast it to the group. Feel free to reply via PM if you prefer. If anyone else has any thoughts on adding the spacers up front, feel free to reply.

The road noise on the MTR's is certainly louder than the factory tires but it was better than I expected. I'll keep you in mind about selling just the tires if I don't get any bites for tires/wheels together. I hope everything goes well with your wife's surgery!

NOTE: The bronze F5 wheels would look wicked with the Army Green on your Pro ... just sayin' :D

Wishing your wife a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Please reach out is there is anything you need.

Now, I personally would not put a spacer in a Fox coil-over. I have had plenty of spacer lifts and they do their job aesthetically but definitely impact the ride. It never bothered me all that much, but my spacers were on stock suspension. Foxes are just too nice to put a spacer in, IMO. It's not bad for the suspension and won't have any other unintended consequences that any other lift wouldn't have, but I wouldn't want to mess with the Foxes. Just my opinion. Edited to add: you may be better off selling the Pro Foxes to buy a different Fox front suspension that provides lift, if you really wanted to stick with Fox.
