I'm starting this Build Thread to catalog the mods and upgrades to my second 2nd Gen Tacoma after selling my beloved 2007 TRD Pro Build. This truck belongs to a family member but has given me freedom to influence his modification selections!

This is a clean, super simple street build used primarily as a daily driver, grocery getter, and dog hauler.

Let us know what you think!

Is this with the front stock? Or their 2"/3.5" kit all around?

Very nice! 285s on a 7" wide wheel? I ran 275/65/20 on my 4Runner and run into Soo many issues Everytime I wanted to get my tires services or rotated due to them not being within the OE tire recommendation. Love the stance tho!

My only concern with the lowering kit is the ride quality. We upgraded the suspension to Bilstein 5100s and the owner really enjoyed the change in ride quality over stock.

Ive also lowered mine and ride quality is pretty much unchanged. Actually its a little better since the truck has a lower center of gravity, it makes it loads of fun on twisty roads. The sos kit im using utilizes the stock bilstein 4600 shocks. The only downfall is the decrease in carrying capacity, but some hellwigs can help sort that out if you want to have your cake and eat it too

Rims are the replicas . 20 x 8.5 +25 . I found ride better . Using all factory springs and shocks so SOS says shouldnt affect ride . Seemed not as bouncy . Added Qa1 in rear and even better .
You got a good start on your truck . Looks good . What ever you do truck going look good .

Edit added pic in other post with the 285s .

I've had the SOS kit on the shelf for about 6 months. I almost decided to sell mine but decided to keep it and have some fun with it. Every time I see this truck I get motivated to get mine done.
