My company is most certainly non-essential (home, roof, termite inspections and the related repair work)

... Offices are in San Jose, Livermore, ect (affected areas) but... the two owners have decided that those of us who commute from the San Joaquin valley are exempt from the new shelter-in-place order and can happily commute into the affected counties to work lol

There are more than that but here's the deal. You may be asymptomatic and bring the virus back and infect someone who is compromised and that person might die. Don't be the person that brings the virus back. Stay home.

Went to my butcher shop for a regular run for a sandwich, today. Usually pick up a few things for the freezer, as well. The place was doing a fairly brisk business, as expected. But I'm told by the owner (I've been a regular at this shop for twenty years) that people he's never seen before are coming in. Ordering ten pounds of burger, and asking him to wrap them in individual one pound increments. I think I would have told them to go home and divide them themselves. Since I was going to the butcher shop I thought I might run in to the produce store across the street. Well, I thought wrong. People were queued up outside the store just waiting to get in. No idea how many people they were letting in at a time, but didn't care, as no way I'm going in their to rummage through the leftovers everyone has fingered.

I got four emails at work saying the SF mayor says “stay home”.

...unless you work for the SFPUC water/sewer/power :pout:

Although it’s kind of nice living in a rural part of the state at the moment. Until fire season:rolleyes:

The same can be said for the flu... In fact, it's about 20x more likely to happen with the flu.
