How frequently do you intend to run all 4 of them? I have 2 520s and wouldn't consider changing my battery. If you're going to run 4 full time, you might want to look at what else you'll be running at the same time. Just the lights themselves shouldn't require a second battery though.

not all the time. just when i make trips up to the mountains. which is fairly often but only weekends and stuff.
and only stuff i'll have is all the lights and a police radar running.

He's implying an upgrade to an Optima battery. Great batteries, I'll get one once mine quits.

They're pretty good but expensive. There are red tops and yellow tops. The red top is a 'starting' batter and the yellow top is supposed to be better for running accessories. If you search Optima, you'll find lots of threads, people swear by them.

Love 'em! I've got the driving light pattern. It took me a while to finally come to terms with spending that much on lights but they're well worth the money. They're hardwired in so they can only come on with the high beams and they basically make my headlights obsolete.

They come with a full wiring harness, relay, and switch. I clipped the snap connections and soldered and heat shrunk them, tossed the PIAA switch and used one that actually fits in the factory location and ran a relay from the high beams. In order for the lights to turn on, the switch must be turned on AND the high beams have to be on.

The kit from PIAA comes with everything you need to make the lights function, I just didn't like how it was set up.

EDIT: there was a group buy going on for PIAA products, not sure if its closed or not but you could save yourself some $$.

oh okay. the switch will not fit in the factory spot? was planning on putting it there. and yeah i looked into the group buy but guessing its over cause never got any word back from it. was it hard to put in? i do not know to much about the electrical side of the truck. so wondering if i should just pay someone to do it or not?

I also have a set of PIAA 520 driving lights and I love them!! I have them behind my Satoshi and use them quite often. Yes, they come with everything you need to install them. I just ran the stock PIAA switch that comes with the kit just to the left of my steering wheel. I also wired it to where you can only turn them on with power to the ignition.

It comes with a decent looking switch, just not one sized correctly to fit in one of the blank spots where a factory fog light switch would go. I'm picky about the looks of things like that so I used a different switch.

The lights are easy enough to install, just take your time and think about the routing for the wires before you jump in and start tearing things apart. Set aside a couple hours for the install, it's not a rush job. You'll have to do some splicing if you plan on running all 4 off 1 switch since the stock system is set up for a pair of lights. You can use splices and wire tape but, if it were my truck, I'd solder and heat shrink the connection. The hardest part in my opinion was getting the f'in wire through the firewall. Doesn't take any special tools, just a few choice words and some patience.

yeah i got you on the picky part. and alright cool good stuff to know before i go ahead and do it. i think i'll keep them as two different switches. so i can run just two if i really want to. and the high beams part sounds pretty good.

question i was checking for the yellow top battery on some website. i forgot which one but it said that it would not fit the 2011 double cab. it even said it wouldn't fit the 10. so question is, im guessing the site is wrong? cause i have seen some people on here with them or did they mod it to fit.
