    i was thinking my crockpot will be getting a workout once i transfer home. mine cooks too fast to be able to start anything in the morning before work and since i don't get to come home for lunch anymore crockpot meals are a weekend only kinda thing.

    There's another one Christie makes it's a beef roast and simple it's just the roast, I talian dressing mix, beef broth, and pepperchinnis i believe. Damn that's a good one. She also does corn beef and cabbage in the crock pot that is really good

    i got a dutch oven for christmas. figured out a few good recipes for that. made one of the best pot roasts I've ever had and a few other things.

    I use the Ginger that comes in the toothpaste type tube and crushed garlic. I ca only get the Star of Anise at one store here but it is the make or break of the recipe IMO
    just skip step 3 and sub in a tablespoon of corn starch and 1/4C water, add that to the crockpot about an hour before dinner.
    slower is better - i dont know how or what but something magical happens with the marrow in the short ribs the longer they're in the pot.
    great with rice noodles and steamed vegies or choice

    yeah i got one of those too. wifi connects to a phone app. low.med.hi temps. problem is the low setting is still hotter than my old crockpots high setting. so old crockpot, 6 hours max
