Yeah Puerto Rico was able to “tame” them, though I believe they made them more European than African.

I saw a semi truck hauling a whole buttload of bee boxes with bees still in them, they had a big net over them and some were escaping..

Wow that there is a brood frame. No wonder the expand and swarm so fast. If you can keep up with boxes I’m sure you could make honey, but Christ if the hive is to big watch out.

Went in and they have drawn out 7 of 10 (some half) and found some eggs just laid nice pattern. Didn't put eyes on the queen but I saw enough. Closed it up and feed em and will put on a another deep so the can keep drawing. https://youtu.be/wM0uZ7QcrT4

The girls have started showing up with pollen in their saddlebags on sunny days, but the pine trees aren't producing any yet, plus it was the wrong color anyway. So I followed them on Saturday and they were absolutely mobbing my neighbor's Crocuses.

Got a little something last night. Have to go back this evening and get them in the hives, weather permitting. Supposed to rain this afternoon. 92BEE2C8-ADC0-4D4D-857B-2744F0C0A610.jpg

Well I wast able to get them out of the nucs because of the weather. Not sure I will get it done today either, supposed to get windy and its kinda cool out. I did go check on them and found one of the feeders to be leaking. I got that fixed and watched the bees for a little while. I can see sitting out by the hives after a long day with a cold beer relaxing.

Here's ours (i.e. my wife's) hives. The last few days she's been setting up the smaller nooks on the right with queen cells and resources...

Got the nucs transferred to main hives. They weren't as aggressive as the night I got them. Didn't get any pics but did take a few videos after I got done. I think I'm really gonna enjoy this venture.

I'm digging that hillside setup. Just don't step wrong while you're doing maintenance

It's not ideal. But we live on a hill! I'm always asking my wife: can't we fit some more hives up there? And she's all: !@#$ you. To be fair, see has to go up these crappy ship ladders and then scurry over a waterfall... and then she has maybe a foot in some places between the hives and the fence to move boxes around... But it's been fun. Armchair Beekeeper, I am.
