No offense taken, totally get it. Perspective is everything and really, things could be a lot worse. This is a good thread to joke and bitch in though, we gotta give it that

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I am about to go to bed because, well frankly, letting my mind wander between the end of work and the start of work is not helping. I can still be good at my work, so that's what I'm going to do.

    Your friend is weird.

    No lock down anywhere.

    Stores open as usual.

I'm out grabbing paper plates, detergent, etc.

Only rained yesterday and the day before, and lightly.

Today it was sunny in the central coast.

    I guess I just don't understand.

Plenty of families right outside the shopping center as I walked in. There's a starbucks near here, as well as restaurants.

We're getting over a foot of snow in the higher elevation mountains down here this week. May have to go check it out this weekend if the world hasn't ended

Oh and I have an appointment for my timing belt on Friday so we'll see if that's still on or not come then

Greetings from the bunker all. Hope this finds you well. Looks like the Bay Area finally decided to lock down and I only wish they would've done it sooner. It is now up to everyone to do their part and respect the county health department order. If you are young, make no mistake this bug can seriously jack you up. The least it will do is make you a carrier and the person you pass it to very well may be older or immune compromised while the most it will do is kill you. Doctors (not just in WA) are reporting they are seeing more cases of young people (without underlying conditions) and they end up in ICU. This thing will overwhelm our healthcare system in many areas of the country, we just weren't prepared - not enough PPE and not enough action. When the AHA and CDC rollback protection to surgical masks only for doctors and nurses, they will get sick. Don't believe this is happening? It is. Right in the SF Bay Area and hospitals all across the country.

I wish you all the best, be safe and do take this thing seriously. No more gyms, no more large gatherings, no more thinking its 'just the flu'. It's not. It's no longer business as usual and it wont be for some time. Shelter in place, protect your families and hope for the best. Look out for elderly neighbors who can't help themselves. Good luck.

Oh and FWIW, Monterey County isn't there yet. They are looking at it and will re-assess tomorrow.
