Busted! (kinda). She had the TSB rr springs (done in '15) when I got her a year ago Feb/19. Just got it back from the frame swap last Fri. I'd supplied new strut assemblies (KYB @RockAuto & UCAs @NAPA) LCAs were included w/frame so everything up front would be new (and labor was free:D). I put rear shocks on last fall. I expected a slight bump-up in front. I was a little surprised myself when I picked it up. Not complainin', but it was a little more than I expected.
Thanks for the welcome & kind words. Seems like a pretty good bunch here in the stock cell block!

How are you liking the KYB? I need a set of new struts and have looked at them

Bought my 2015 SR5 ECLB two Tuesdays ago and already slept in the back Friday night! I'll post pictures eventually... It came with a topper+rack and platform already built which was sweet.

I've already replaced the front/rear/transfer case oil, ATF and a coolant change (none of which looked all that bad), done the LED interior light swap, put one of those stubbily antennae on since the stock one looks like its from the 70s, and a K&N filter.

Question for the group - I want to keep the truck stock/unlifted so it fits in my tiny CO garage (I have ~12" to spare front/rear) and for daily drive-ability. Goal is a stealth trailhead access vehicle so long highway drives followed by 4 to 20 miles of dirt CO/WY/NM forest circus roads. The truck came with brand new general grabber HTS tires in the stock 245/75/16 size - is it worth upgrading to 265/75/16's in a more AT oriented tire? I'm more worried about sidewall punctures than clearance since my last similar vehicle was my ex's 2000 ford ranger with even smaller tires. Doesn't seem like there's much resale value in the old tires although I guess I could keep them for winter use and slightly better gas mileage..

Edit: I am a hiker/skier/peak bagger so wheelin' is part of the journey not the goal.

So far, so good. @165K on the originals, I suppose anything would have been a major improvement though. I had an eye out for a set of 4600 Billy take offs, but it never happened. They're the mono-tube versions (Strut-Plus), a step up from the twin-tube OEM replacement type. Way better ride, but like I said, my stuff was pretty well used...
Plus, they match the rears I changed last fall.

Shit, if you were local, I have a set of near-new Discoverer AT3s that came on my Taco when I bought it. A week later I found the present take-offs set-up. My plan was to run the AT3/steelies for winter, but they cancelled it (winter) here in Ohio this year...:notsure:

Damn - I'll probably just keep an eye on craigslist and facebook for tires. Seems low priority but I have a bunch of 4WD trailheads in mind for the summer.

I just remembered you've got different struts than my 2wd beast :anonymous: I'm going to go with the kyb that fits I guess.

Unless you're talking mud bogged forest roads, or sharp shale like rock/gravel roads, I'd give the Grabbers a trip to see if they'll meet your needs. All depends on the severity of the conditions you anticipate on the forest road portions. A larger aggressive AT tire will certainly cost some highway MPG. Just my GOB opinion FWIW.

Definitely rocky and occasionally muddy roads but probably not a lot of sharp rocks. You're probably right though - I'll have to see how they do and go from there. It's definitely a lot of money to replace something brand new for probably minor benefits.
