That’s how it works in my Mustang. I think I drove that car for two or three months before I figured out how to turn on the fog lights.

    Both true.

    Hey I dunno. :notsure:
The thing is, nobody really knows for certain.

I'm gonna go off on a little tangent here...

My Masters was in Historical Demography.
I had to translate French census records for a small 19th century town (Cases-de-Penne) in the eastern French Pyrenees.
Age, sex, marital status, children, occupation, etc.
Plus translate and collate data from the etats-civil, the civil register of births, deaths and marriages.
Also Economic Regression analysis from available records on trade, taxation, land ownership, land usage.
Had to write some Fortran II programs (those programs seem very primitive now) to analyze the data.
Punch cards and mainframe computer in the basement of the University.

Found out a lot of interesting things about the seasonality of births and deaths, for instance.
In a time when privacy was harder to come by...a spike of illegitimate births occurred in late Winter /Spring.
Those conceptions were happening in the warm months...out of doors.
Mortality spiked in those same months of late Winter /Spring. Broken down by age groups.
Various reasons, mostly to do with weakened immune systems and possible vitamin deficiency.
Plus a smaller malaria mortality spike in the summer months.

Sorry, I'll spare you any more.

The point is, there are a lot of variables and unknowns in the present case.
And a lot of possible scenarios that arise from the specific assumptions (guesses) used.
In my studies, I had the luxury of hindsight.

I wonder about a few hard questions:

    1) Do we wreck the economy for something that does not seem to be particularly dangerous for any except the elderly with underlying conditions?
    2) Could we not allow young people to build up a herd immunity and in the meantime limit isolation measures to the group most at risk?
    3) An effective vaccine seems to be some ways off. This thing will spread...all you can do is slow it down. Worth the disruption?

    Like I said, I dunno.
I hope this post is not considered in some way political.
