Not saying it is the gym's fault for closing.. i would just expect them to have a plan in place for when they inevitably closed. Either way, this is new territory for a lot of businesses so i assume it will be a learning opportunity for all businesses.

Right, thanks! I've been doing 22/2 IF for about 5 months, and have been enjoying it. Eat what I want, and I'd have to really stuff myself to go over my kcal goal in 2 hours.

Ya, I have been doing a lowcarb, IntFasting 2 days a week (22-30 hours each time).... and only eating 2 meals a day the rest of the days (I have always only ate twice a day). Lost 15% of my body weight (30 lbs) even though that was not my goal. I also workout for 45-60 minutes, 5-6 days a week (I have always done that too) - which is why this Corona BS annoys me so much.

Been 1 year this month. EXTREMELY happy. Feel incredible. I am almost 49 and I feel better than I have since I was 29. Of course, I also mostly stopped drinking (except vacation), not that I drank a TON before (9-10 drinks a week)... but those wasted calories, omg. DeLaurer and Dr. Berg on ytube have been awesome.

I tried 16/8 intermittent fasting for a month, basically just cutting out breakfast and I didn't lose an ounce. I've been losing about 2-3 lbs/month just cutting out snacking during the work day. Now that I'll be WFH for the foreseeable future that strategy will be much harder!

Oh yes. Snacking MUST be cut out. Snacking is like... the WORST thing. You never bring your insulin spikes down if you snack so your body is never ever in the fat burning mode. Believe me, I have tried to tell my wife this, but she is addicted to crap-snacking (as I call it). And, most snacking is all carbs. Carbs are much more the enemy than fat. The gvmt lied to us all our life (well, my life since I am in my late 40s) telling us "fat free" was the key. Butter is bad. Bacon is bad... all lies.

If Americans stopped snacking (a terrible habit that began in the 70s).... the combined BMI would probably go down 20% in a year, lol.

One of my goals this year is to snack better. Nuts, salmon jerky, and fruit are what I am limiting myself to.

I'm a tad under 10 years left of a 15 at 3.125% APR. I think we might see as low as 1% before this is all said and done.

HTF are people gonna be able to pay their mortgages three months from now? You didn't get laid off today but you don't know what tomorrow will bring. Every person who gets laid off today, won't be spending money tomorrow. EVERY industry will be affected. There will be layoffs regardless of how secure you think you are now. Gonna take some big .gov interference to keep this from bankrupting a lot of people. It will be like dominos. Sure, some of us will figure out a way and there will be some opportunities as well. But as a whole, we're fucked.

How many restaurants are equipped to be closed for 8 weeks? What's gonna happen when everyone gets all their groceries and realize they have six months worth of food now? How are movie theaters going to pay rent? Gas stations when nobody is driving anywhere or can't afford gas to go anywhere? And where are you going to go to find a job? Not another state 'cause they just went through the exact same thing as the state you're coming from.

Do you understand the benefits of social distancing (when not confirmed) and isolation (when confirmed infected)?
Take a look at this simulation (yes, it doesn't account for deaths and has other simplifications) and then we can discuss the benefits overall to "the government overstepping". https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator/

Agreed. This is (imo) a hyped up media driven political hit job. Anyone remember the swine flu? I think like 4K dead. Obama did nothing. The media could have cared less. SARS in 2005(ish)? A little hype, nothing much done and nothing much happened. Here we are at less than 100 dead and the country is in panic and (basically) under marshall law. 3100 people die in the roads EVERY month. We don't shut down roads. In 2017, TB killed 1.6 million people, did the world panic and shut down? BLM shutting land.... private business Ordered to shut down. IL governor trampling on gun rights already. Wait till 1 drunk guy in denver does something dumb = alcohol sales with be shut down "safety". Or, 1 gun goes off. Polis is just waiting... He may declare "fracking" too dangerous, lol

This is going to cause a TON of grief for the NOT 1%. The 1% will buy up all the devalued stock and real estate and rise up to the top .1%. The media loves this shit. Blood/gore/guts/panic - they live for this type of event. Read about the "petri dish" Diamond Princess cruise ship - 83% of old people on a cruise ship

Maybe people will learn how to cook at home again out of this, a minuscule silver lining.
