oh and agree - this isn't going to be over in 2-3 weeks. This is the new normal. Get used to it people. You're in HC, you know where the system is and how quickly it will be overwhelmed when the surge comes. Best to try and delay it as long as possible, hence the shelter in place order.

 

Unless this thing evolves, starts killing people off or worse, turns them into zombies, your daughter grows up unscathed because she apparently, is immune, and people like me, @what road , @JKO1998 and whoever else has a will to leave in Z world because it's the g'damn end of the world

 

haha kids aren't immune but thankfully, they seem to be getting more mild cases of it compared to adults and especially the elderly. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, but there is some ease in knowing that the odds are more in her favor than they are in ours.

 

I can handle being sick, I can count on one hand I've been to the doctor for being sick in my lifetime. One was when I was a year old and got viral spinal meningitis, nearly killed me. But if my 2.5 month year old daughter gets sick, mild or not I'm going to feel awful about it

Packing to head out of town and it's hitting me. I have stayed at the GFs place for up to 2 weeks before but this time feels so much different given that I'm bringing so much with me

 

So who else is working from home these days?

My agency was directed to telework and today is the "test day" for all the folks who've never done it before. I do it from time to time, so I'm all set, but the problem is that all DOI employees are clogging the VPN, so I can't get shit done.

 

In milan they are choosing which patient get ventilators and which die rn. Not enough equipment, not enough staff, not enough resources. Staff are all being forced to work sick or not, employees aren't being tested anymore.


There's a reason the panic is occurring. The U.S. does not want to get to that point. Thank god I'm not in inpatient or ER work anymore. Who knows what the hell those places look like rn

 

I imagine it is frustrating for everyone when that all goes down.

I WFH 2 days a week and was hoping to go full time so it's a good trial for me. I remember the frustrations of setting everything up and getting my workflow ironed out though so I feel for anyone who hasn't done it before
