What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

No rubbing so far. But I've only driven 60 miles with them on streets and freeways. I do go offroading so I'll know more next adventure.

 

Thanks! I haven't gone offroading with them yet, but I do go regularly so I'll know more soon. I've been told and read that they shouldn't rub, but we'll see. I do have a 1/2" leveling spacer for the front to give a 1" lift, just not set up tool wise to do myself so it's on the back burner for now.

 

How much did doing all that set you back if you dont mind me asking? I've been looking at possibly having those parts wrapped?

 

While waiting for the SnugTop Super Sport to arrive in another 2 to 3 weeks, I installed gen2 Running Boards. Looks good and they do help with door dings. Once the sungTop arrives I'm going to order the BedRug , Cali Raised Bed Molle Rear Panel and quick disconnect Fire Extinguisher. I still want the TRD Suspension Fox Shocks, but having problem ordering from Toyota.

 

I love the look of those side steps, they fit nice and snug up to the sill. I've always disliked the way the sill/frame look.

 

Wanted to go with the gen 3 model # PT767-35190 , but they would have been $300 more.

 

Personally I prefer yours, mind sharing the part number? The one thing I don't like about owning a DCLB is the small choice of wheel to wheel side steps.

It shouldn't stick like that, if it does it more than once (and proves to be more than a random incident) I'd think it was an issue that needed some attention. Never had an issue with the parking brake on other MTs I've driven, but my taco is an AT so I don't need the parking brake except on trails.

 

Yes, I found it amusing the emblem police having issues with a new member working on a PRO build with a Sport. You need the hood scoop to build up to a PRO.

I have always used my parking brake even in my Tacoma with AT and my Forte5 with AT. If I remember correctly when I took Drivers Ed(a very long time ago), we were instructed to always use the parking brake.

 

Thanks, they are the Black bead lock 17" tire upgrade. Gonna wear those out lift a few inches and seems 285/70/17 is a good tire size without cutting. These are 265/65/17

 

Some do! I will still use it on a hill, for peace of mind.

Regardless of whether you do or not with an AT, it sounds like something in the cable is seizing or otherwise not releasing properly. Could be the shoes sticking too, not 100% sure how to diagnose on your own. I'd have it looked at if it were mine.

 

Beats me. Maybe someone else that has had the same issue will pipe in.
