Spider owners tips, feed videos and BS

I work at the courthouse in LA. The next three days were declared Holidays! No court sessions being held, judges get to stay home, but us pee-on workers have to show up and are forced to use our time on books if we want to stay home, for those with kids whose school has been cancelled.

Well I hope you, and everyone else here and outside of TW is able to pull through this fiasco. A lot of businesses are hurting for sure.

Large enclosure coming in a few days...

@boogie3478 any tips on introduction to new enclosure and being roommates??

 

Sweet! I've never run a communal enclosure before but here's what I'd recommend:

• Feed them once in their individual enclosure before putting them all together
• Introduce them all to the enclosure at the same time (1 after the other)
• Make sure they are well fed
• When you feed them try to make sure each spider gets their own insect (vs. just dumping 5 crickets in at once)
• For the big enclosure they will be housed in—put plenty of twigs/branches/etc sticking out of the substrate for them to use as anchor points to build their communal web castle

I have the enclosure and it’s ready for occupancy. I have four of the new ones that ate a cricket. The original one i got doesn’t seem to be hungry. @boogie3478 what do ya think, all ok to be roomies?
I may have the two runts as extra...who have not eaten and I’m thinking i should hold them back...

 

This is just me, but I'd want them all introduced at the same time.

With that being said, I'd make sure they're all healthy.

Even though they don't often kill and eat each other, you don't want a "weak one" picked off for the better of the community.
