He’s right. The Swine Flu affected more people and had a higher mortality rate.

In terms of mortality, it was worse. In terms of what it’s doing to the world now, you’re correct.

And then it ran it's course, the population as a whole developed antibodies to it and it became the 4th coronavirus that now just causes the plain old flu. This virus too will run its course and become flu virus #5 in time

My buddy who works in distribution is so pissed at people panic buying. We have MORE THAN ENOUGH food and supplies the issue is distribution. People are buying in much bigger quantities faster and its causing issues. Rather than if people went to the store once a week like normal we would be fine. Those shelves will be fully stocked in the next few days guaranteed.

I'm just going to leave this here and I'll be quiet without going off and getting myself a 30 day vacay. Wasn't even sure I wanted to post this here simply because it is a TRUCK forum but hell, I truly enjoy this core group here in the LT thread want to be sure my tacoma buddies see it. Draw your own conclusions, everyone deals with this in their own way and that is cool too.

Below is a report from the Imperial College London COVID19 Response Team on the situation here in the US.
Read it if you want to understand where we are and how things just might play out. Us here in the Bay Area, Seattle, NY and other areas are now in the Suppression phase. report in PDF format - https://spiral.imperial.ac.uk:8443/handle/10044/1/77482

A summary of the report by Assistant Professor Jeremy Young @ Dixie State University in Utah can be found here if you'd rather not read the PDF:
    https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1239975682643357696.html

THIS is why we are seeing such a change in action. It scared the hell out of the govt. It has scared the shit out of me. The implications are far reaching. Not going to be seeing the same normal for a long long time.

Time to go fire up Netflix and watch a movie. I'm done trying to process this madness. Peace.
