    Hey,

Like a lot of people, I have a set. Three years of ownership of the truck, and haven’t needed them, despite a lot of snow driving, wet wheeling, some sand, and a bit of mud.

I don’t doubt their effectiveness, but am beginning to wonder if they are just taking up space here in the PNW.

How many people have needed these? Convince me to keep a spot for them in my load out.

I used them just this past weekend to get a my buddies Jeep unstuck from a snowbank. A quick dig under/behind the front tires, maxtrax jammed under, and he just drove out like it was nothing.

    Cheap insurance IMO

I can think of situations where they would have been convenient, but they also weren't my only option.

How many times have you gotten stuck in the past 3 years? I think they are more useful than a shovel and axe strapped to the side of your rig. I always go with another rig. A quick tug on a strap is all I ever need.

The times I’ve been stuck a shovel or tow strap was the better option.

Probably better than shredding your floor mats like I did with my f150 two years ago in deep snow. I was so pissed after that I had a headache the rest of the day.

I use them to level my truck camping. I've used them myself when stuck towing a trailer across the dunes. Used them to un-stuck someone else before. Used them as a ramp to get over some rocks. Have used them to get me that extra inch when high centered. I don't use them often, but they sure are handy. I have a full set of four maxtrax.

If you got stuck on the moon, you need them. If you get stuck in the Saraha, you might need them.
If you get stuck pretty much anywhere else, you don't need them as un stuck devices are either laying or growing all around you. I have had to use branches a few times in my life to get out. Worked great.

Have been out several times and been with people that get stuck in the sand, yes I could hook a strap and pull. Or just pull them out and watch them drive right out with a lot less effort. Like others have said it’s cheap insurance.

I do plan to get some cheaper ones but it will only be for insurances. I don’t really off-road but have been on some sketchy forest service roads. That said, because I’m not off-roading and not alone, I would be the only vehicle. Other back up is a shovel and come along with straps. Debating a front hitch and winch with hitch cradle.

Yeah. I am thinking their usefulness has a lot to do with your location.

Got a few neighbours out of snow banks with mine. Otherwise they are up top in case of emergency.. I don’t push it too hard with the fam onboard, but they are a nice peace of mind.

Lol why do people say this?:notsure:
If this was the case, people would have:
A third hand (broke existing ones and need to, um)
    An extra wife
An extra truck in case you wreck yours
Every extra part for everything you have

    See what I mean?
