Last step in an alignment is zero point clear and calibrate; part of the brake system.
Still...has nothing to do with tramlining like this thread is complaining about.

I've got a new 2020 with the same issue, wanders way more than any other vehicle I've ever owned. On rutted roads like the OP mentioned, you get pushed all over the place. I'm hoping someone comes up with a suggestion that solves the issue.

Interesting, notice it says vacuum booster models, wonder what is different about the alignment?

Alignment is the same; I think the zero point calibration is slightly different between hydro and vacuum.

I wonder if it could be as simple as the lack of the chin spoiler on the OR negatively effecting the aerodynamics of the truck?

Maybe it has something to do with the positive camber setting. This is extremely rare in modern vehicles.

    Excessive camber can exacerbate tramlining...
I wouldn't say it's "extremely rare"...maybe less common as SLA-RWD vehicles become less common. Positive camber can add stability in a straight line and ease steering effort when turning.
The biggest factor in tramlining is tires.

Nah, don't think so. All I can say is it didn't used to behave this way. Used to drive anywhere I wanted without a sweat. Eat a sandwich, drive with my knee, no biggie. Now seems like I need to have a death grip.

I am also having this problem...I found this thread while doing gobs of searches. My truck is a 2020 TRD OR DCSB with the no modifications done to the steering, tires, or suspension. I only have just over 1200 miles on it.

When i bought it, the steering wheel was a tad off center and I took it in the next day to have it aligned and they did it and the steering wheel is straight, but driving it is not a relaxing chore. It's a "two hands for beginners" type of situation. Another thing is my steering feels very heavy, almost like when you tightened then old school recirculating ball starring gear boxes too tight.

Ill be watching this for possible solutions.

I may bring it back and have it checked again.

Interesting, your steering feel is opposite of mine. Mine feels very light.

I have 255/85r16 tires and a 2" lift. I'm thinking about replacing the OR wheels and 1.25" spacers with a set of SCS F5s which have 0deg offset and 4.5" of backspace. Any idea where that would put me at on scrub?

You currently have 22mm of added positive scrub.
16x8 ET 0 with 255/85/16 is 15mm of added positive scrub.

I had a similar problem with I first lifted my Sport and went up an inch in the tires. I had my alignment checked twice and it still wandered on any surface. I played with tire pressure, which took care of some of it. Just for S&G I put the stock wheels and tires back on and everything was fine. I finally gave up on the tires I had on the new wheels (Cooper Xeon LTZ 18s) and move to Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. All my issues were gone. Highway driver became better than the stock tires. Very happy with the current setup.

Seem to be having this problem in my 20 Pro. Not sure if that’s the way it’s designed or not.

I constantly have two hands on the wheel around here to make little corrections driving down the freeway. If the road is dead flat, it usually stays straight and is easy to control but any type of rut or slope for drainage seems to pull me left or right. It’s not relaxing to say the least.

I was planning on playing around with tire pressures but I’m glad to hear other feel the same.

splitbolt, you seem to have the best grasp on the whole topic of alignment. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the following:

    1) The tram-lining issue seems to be very common. I noticed it on 4 different OR trucks I drove. One truck was a used 2016, the other 3 were new, including my 2020. They all had the same wheels with the same offset (stock OR wheels). Some folks have indicated that putting on other wheels have fixed the tram-lining. If that's the case, what would OR trucks with stock OR wheels need to do to compensate? In other words, what adjustments would I need to make to my alignment to make my OR (offset of 25) act like it had the TRD Sport (offset 30)?

    2) Do you think it is reasonable to assume that #1 above (i.e. offset changes) could actually make that much of a difference to the tram-lining behavior?

    3) I think you've indicated in a number of posts what you would try, to get the tram-lining to stop, but I'm a bit thick when it comes to alignment at this point. Would you mind listing what the current stock alignment spec. is and what you would change, or at least consider changing, to get the tram-lining to stop?

I can't thank you enough for all the posts and time you've already spent on this thread. Thank you!
