Auto start

Anyone have some good recommendations for auto start? I would like to get it on my phone but if I get a two way remote it won't be the end of the world

 

drone or viper, drone has unlimited range so if you want to flex on people you can start your truck from another country.

@Trail and error do you have a 3rd gen? I see you posted this in 3rd gen but not sure because your info shows a 2013 w/ a photo (of a very nice might I add) 2nd gen...

We don't do 2nd gens; we went down that road once and swore to never do it again because it's semi-plug n play with 6-7 wire taps - and you can't do OEM 3X lock, your remote starter must be supplemented with either an RF fob kit or smart phone module to control it but not both. Once there are more than 2-3 taps on a Plug n Play harness are required, we no longer consider it plug n play, so we opt not to sell it. That and the fact that you have to have a smart module or RF kit to make it work meant added cost and most don't understand this and to save face as we don't want to be perceived as up selling folks, we chose not to go to market with it. Too much support involved with each wire that needs tapping.

However, if you have a 3rd gen 2016-2020, we have kits for ALL ignition and transmission types. Push to Start, HKEY Auto, HKEY Manual, and base level trims that don't have key-less entry (we give them 2 2-way feedback long range fobs).

Speaking of N2 Designs..... Anyone installed their products on their Tacoma?

Their product looks nice and if truly P nd P and easy to install I'd like to order. But .... That price looks steep for what you get (I realize they have to Pay for Engineering / Design costs .... But I'm hoping it drops some ...) $399 on SALE . Thanks

 

I recommend this 100% truly pplug and play and have yet to have a issue. I have told everyone I come into contact with to add it (if they own a car the n2 supports)

 

So you’re saying you DO offer a remote start for a ‘20 Tacoma with a manual transmission? I scanned your web site and only found an automatic version.

And what is a HKEY?

 

Just trade it for a 2020 truck

 

An H key is a key that has a "Chip" in inside that your Truck is programmed recognize.

 

Actually my 2013 got totaled out, and I know drive a 2020 Tacoma TRD Sport, ive been so busy and haven't got around to changing my info! or picture yet

 

Installed the remote start and add on phone module last week. The install was super easy, only hiccup was waiting a hour or so for the phone control module to sync/update itself before it would work correctly. The paper instructions didn't say where to stash the phone control module (and pics were also in black and white) but if you use their YouTube videos everything is shown and explained well. After doing it the first time I imagine it would take less than 15-20 minutes to do it again. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a remote start. As for the price, I don't know what Toyota charges for a factory remote start but I assume it's more expensive and requires a seperate remote to add to your keychain. N2 uses your factory key FOB to start the vehicle.

 

I thought the 20s with entune 3.0 came with it?

Well .... I'm looking at the N2 Package SKU: N2-EO-TOY5-RF-K mainly to add remote door locks - and the remote start would be a bonus ...


My NEW Ride 2020 SR SX 4 x 4 . No remote entry, no alarm or remote start -but does have electric door locks.

Key required for entry but H2 key (key w/ chip) required to start.

There are "just" remote entry packages (even from Toyota OEM TOYOTA APPORVED SET KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM CAMRY TUNDRA YARIS COROLLA 00016-32901) ( approx $125) but requires many wire cuts/splices and lower Dash panel / steering wheel cover removals.... Too Much work/possible error issues for me and I do not want to screw with the Dealer for issues related to in stall.

Per conversations with N2 (nice to deal with by the way !!!)
