For any newer riders (and even experienced folks) the "Ride Like A Pro" video series is really good. I saw their demo at Daytona Bike Week shortly after I bought my first bike, bought a DVD, and started practicing. It came in handy when I started working at Daytona H-D later that year. After about a month I got chewed out for doing full-lock floorboard drags when moving bikes.

I sent them the price match request. That's good enough for me

Got the bike back together. Front brake line is STILL sitting at USPS Miami with a status of "Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending"...

I did my first (10 second) heat cycle. It didn't blow up and there were no concussive noises from the engine, so I'll chalk that up as a win for today.

Very nice build. I've got the same rear fender waiting to be painted. I also have the Road King shocks!

Which shocks were on previously? I like those!

    Thanks!

I had Progressive 15" on it, but had to use a 1" lowering block to keep the axle off of the exhaust.

I've gone through a handful of setups and I'm pretty happy with it now.

I've got stock shocks on a 1" lowering kit right now. Trying to figure what I want to do for rear suspension. May just stick with the RK suspension. Too many other irons in the fire right now to focus on the bike and the pile of parts I have waiting to go on!

The RK shocks were one of the first upgrades I did. I really like them. The Progressives are good, just a little too tall. I changed out the fluid in the RKs. Once I get the heat cycling done I'll be able to get some miles on the bike and see how the new fluid feels.

I hated the RK shocks on my nightster. It lifted the back when I wanted to lower it. When shock time comes arouD on my 48, ill probably do those DK internal bypass, but I definitely want to lower the bike more

I think the Nightster already has a lower stance. I know my ex's Iron sat lower than mine. Granted hers was a 2010 while mine is a 1996.

I bought whichever RK shocks are shorter than the Sportster shocks. Can't remember which model it came off of.

I had RK air shocks without the air lines. I went back to the stock ones. But i was planning on going to 10" solid struts and a springer seat. Way back when..

I think that would be the RK Custom. It had a nice low stance. Street Glide shocks would be the same.

Same. I will probably buy another to do that next year.

I have resigned to the fact that I can't ride my Sportster the way I rode my Ninjas. They're fun but a different type of fun.
