    Hey all,

Glad to be here. I just picked up a new to me 2008 Tacoma, DC SR5 V6 PreRunner color is Speedway Blue and the clear is frosting away. Never had a truck that wasn't 4x4 before but guess we will see how it goes. Been out of the country for 6 years and was planning on buying a Land Cruiser upon my return but got sent to Hawaii so the LC will have to wait. Hawaii has more Tacos than anywhere I've been and they go for a premium.

I tried getting the PPI done at Toyota but they refused service since the owner of the vehicle wasn't present. Instead, as a courtesy, they looked through the records for anything that stood out and a mechanic took a quick peek under the truck where the frame is known to perforate.

The rig has 151K miles and runs strong. I plan to baseline it for peace of mind. The original owner owned it for 11.5 yrs and the second owner bought it and used it for 6 months but it wasn't a good fit in her garage (sts) so I bought it. The only con I can find is that it was smoked in; very heavily. The interior looks brand new otherwise, as the original owner installed WetOkole seat covers immediately after purchase. I'm reconditioning the interior now to help remove the stench of smoke. I used to be a smoker but this is new level stench.

Anyway, I plan to lurk and learn as I try to take the best care of my new truck and make it last.

    Thanks,
    Moose
