    Hey Everyone,

Thinking about getting a 19' travel trailer to pull with my Tacoma. Re-gear is covered (4.88's), however I have the Icon RXT leaf pack set at the medium setting AND external reservoir shocks mounted to the frame. Does anyone know of an airbag setup that will work with this?

    Thank you

Airbags go where your current bump stops are. I dont see how your resi would interfere

have airbags with cradles and resi... no issues. just get the cradles. The bags go on top of the spring pack so no biggie

Do you mind posting a link to the product you used please?
I saw the RideControl Kit 59561, but it appears the bracket interferes with where the resi is mounted because the bags don't sit directly over the axle, either behind or in front depending on the side.

Firesteone Ride Rites with Daystar cradles are the only bags worth buying.

I have read on TW that the Daystar cradles are overkill. What benefit do they provide?

Don’t try to balance the air pressure in each shock by setting up the airlines on the same valve, air pressure will switch back-and-forth between the shocks when you go around corners. An easy way to make sure both lines are perfectly balanced when you fill them up is to take a short piece of hose and put two filler quick connect tips on each end, hold both of them on each valve momentarily, and it’ll equalize air pressure between the two shocks.

I’ll post a picture as soon as I find it

Daystars allow for more axle flex when you’re off roading, you don’t need them if you stay on the road. They can cause a problem though when your truck is lifted and then lowered on a rack if the shock does not perfectly set back into the cup.

Full down travel.. if you wheel or take you truck to any shop to be worked on then there is a chance to stretch the bags and cause a leak.. Full down travel is vital imo

Thank you. Anything like this helps. I intend to install myself and test out my new air drill

I don’t know the part number, but you are also going to have to get a lifted truck adapter set with the firestone airbags, the mount as is only supports the bags with the stock spring width, but you’re going to have to extend it due to your spring packs being thicker as shown in your photo.

I’ll try to find the part numbers, I have mine sitting in the garage on my bench.

My truck is lifted (about 2" rear and 1.5" front, running 265/75/17). Are you recommending I do or dont get them? I live in Idaho and do hit the mountain trails, but not with the trailer unless it is one to get to a campsite.

I keep my bags airlines seperate because if there is a leak i dont want it to affect both. Also, if you offroad the change of pressure based on angle or truck weight shift can cause an adverse effect.

if you have a bigger leaf pack, then you will need to get the firestone mount extension brackets to prevent them from bending while wheeling

Either have I, it was just a warning to check when you were setting the truck back down. I think it really would happen only if the daystars get out of alignment. You’re right though about full flex though, those bags would stretch a lot without the daystars.

I really like mine a lot, we pull a trailer and also off-road with the truck, along with loading it up with gear and lots of rocks we collected when we’re out in the desert. They were a great investment for us!
