Was just at a local grocery store looking for bottled water or food items . Guess this Panic buying is causing stores like this to limit items per purchase

This particular store had Arrowhead drinking water in 1 gallon containers limit one per family

Yeah, the hoarding thing is contagious. I sometimes have to check myself, do I need 30 cans of tuna fish?

It's a wee bit soggy here. Gully washer last night and flash flood warnings all over the place. But that's Spring time in Texas.

Got an email earlier that said they were doing that to limit your exposure to the virus. Just do the call and see what he says, then reschedule for later on. Better than being sick /dead from it. But, sorry it changed for you.

The missus canceled her appointment yesterday because the crown wouldn’t be ready right away. She’s really happy she did.

Since Canada is calling their folks back there's already an improvement. Not that they were the worst offenders but because there were a lot of them here. Most I talked to today need to be across the border by the 23rd. So most have left or are leaving shortly.

The few I talk to are only leaving a couple days early. So they'll wind their way up through. Look for them 2-5 days earlier than normal.

...and I don't know if the 23rd is a universal drop dead date or not.

We just went through a week of rain, the last few days were just above freezing.

I really need to keep up reading this thread it looks like...
    Rant to follow:

Anyone elses life a real shitshow right now because of current affairs?
Zion is still open for business. The VC and museum are closed. Lodge still open. Shuttle was just shut down, so now everyone can drive up the canyon and park like asshats. Between the VC and the canyon parking, theres about 700 parking spaces. Yesterday they were full by 1030am. No one is limiting travel like theyre supposed to be...Go the the fuck home. Meanwhile, theres about 5 people to clean 10+ restroom buildings. Eventually theyll run out of PPE to do their job. Both campgrounds are still open. People cant even self-regulate. the photo was Monday at the main shuttle stop before it was shut down. When I got to the park about 10am, the entry line was about 20 cars deep.

AND NOW!! The NPS has decided to no longer operate their fee stations. No entry fee. No camping fee. No oversized vehicle/tunnel fee. Nothing. Every time theres a fee-free day, its total FUBAR. Remember the shutdown last year? Total craptastic situation. And to add to the issue, normally to park in town (Springdale) theres parking meters all over. Mayor has lifted that too. No fees to park... Of course he also owns several hotels and nightly rentals so hes not motivated to close anything. Hes only making it more accessible and appealing to visit.

The facilities division is not eligible to telework. They maintain the roads (its snowed, had to get plowed). The plumbing. The custodial staff. The maintenance of park housing. Its a complete fucked up deal. Im over it. The 35 day shutdown did not cause me this much stress.

I usually dont drink on school nights, but damn if this thing isnt going to make me have a sip every night.

Thanks folks! Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

EDIT/ Just drove past local coffee shop: 20 cars at least....

This one kinda skirted north of San Diego and kinda north east and as far south as us and northern Mexico. We had rain last Tuesday that soaked in really well, the Thursday's rain made all the washes run. Not sure what today's storm did for washes and roads at work. That'll be tomorrow's suprise. No cold air here.

We're still charging fees, doing compliance/enforcement. Office folks telework and field folks to the field. Nothing like the furlough here. But we don't have half the stuff you're describing for shuttles and all that. If they wanna see something here they gotta take their own happy asses around and look.

City police, sheriff’s office, state police - they’re all over this. Federal authorities...silent. I’m a federal employee and we STILL haven’t been given explicit instructions to do anything, just “prepare.”

Ok, we’re prepared. We can’t actually do anything until ordered.

    C’mon.

    Any moment now.

    Say the word, please.

Haven't seen that. Or felt it....all things considered I'm not that far away from SLC. Pretty sure there's some faults connecting the two.
    Will check it out later!
