Added some beef to the rear axle after having a close call before.

Been a lot longer than today, but finally got one side of the front suspension buttoned up. Other side is close too.

New Solo LCAs, wheels bearings, lower spherical bearings, uniballs, CV boots, and probably other things I'm forgetting. #allthemidtravel

Also been working on a new to me axle housing. Cut off the drain plug and starting getting a truss fit up.

Can you let us know how you like the solo arms. There have only been vague hints about how they worked out.

I'll report back, but it's going to be a little while yet.

I can tell you I had zero issues torquing the LBJ stud down properly.

    Ruffstuff.

Looks bigger than it is. Need to clearance more around the leaf perches and then it will rotate and tuck up much closer.

Was there anything special to do as far as the LBJ's?
    Thanks for your reply.

No. @Blackdawg reported an issue torquing it, but I didn't experience that.

Of minor annoyance is there is less room to get a socket on the LBJ to spindle bolts, but you just have to turn the wheel a ways in either direction.

About a month into having my Solo arms I had my lbj pull through the arm like @Blackdawg 's did. I replaced the LBJ and so far no issues. I took a micrometer to the new and old ball joint taper to see if the taper was wearing out and allowing it to slip into the arm. No difference in the two. I'm still not sure why it happened, but so far no issues with the new ball joint.

Yeah issue was the lbj coming loose in the arm after torquing it. I have a video I can post. Pretty terrifying as it sheared the pin and the nits were free spinning. So keep an eye on that.

I have new ones to install which is started this last weekend but haven't had time this week. Austin's theory is the ends on the lcas are tapered like the OEM lbj.

Taco is back on the road today! Has been a long couple of weeks...actually, it's been a month!!

I was planning on a full front suspension upgrade, had been stockpiling parts for months, trying to find good used stuff whenever possible. Then, I pulled it into the backyard to tear it down...it had started making a rattling noise in the engine compartment, so I pulled the timing cover off and the top idler wheel's bearing was shot. OK, so I get to do a TB/WP job while it's down, that should be fun. Actually, not too bad. Replaced all the seals while I was in there.

Front suspension was trashed, so I replaced pretty much everything...

    Camburg UCAs, new bolts
OEM LCAs with Whiteline Poly Bushings, new alignment cams/bolts
BILSTEIN 5100 with OME 883, new lower mount bolts
    OEM LBJs
CARDONE CV Axle Assembly (OEM rebuilds were backordered, no ETA.)
    Energy Suspension Steering Rack Bushings
PowerStop Drilled & Slotted Rotors, OEM brake pads

Tie rod ends are not here yet, will do those this weekend.

Stockpiling this stuff since October...Sure was nice driving out of the alignment shop today knowing this is DONE!

Next is new BILSTEINs for the rear.

When I replaced all my headlight housings and such the LEDs aren’t so good in those reflective housings as y’all know. Just put my stock bulbs back in and possibly just gonna buy some white style bulbs or try HIDs :notsure: not really sure yet. Just gonna run these for now I guess
