This is my Tacoma now. I have added a new grill, lifted it and put new tires on. Any suggestions on any other beneficial mods that I could do?IMG_0119.jpg

Oem bed mat, husky or weathertech floor liners, ultimate headlight upgrade, and a mechanical limited slip I love my Detroit trutrac.

First things first, before you start spending money on mods, have you done all preventative maintenance on it already (change all fluids, belt, hoses, spark plugs, rust prevention, brakes, filters, ball joints, tie rods, bushings, etc)? Have you done the secondary air injection filter mod? If no, that should've been your first mod. Whatever mod you do depends on what you plan to do with it. Build your truck to suit your lifestyle (camper, rock crawler, fisherman, hunter, etc). Don't build a road queen and don't build someone else's truck. Too many people have trucks that look the same or have all the same type of mods (lifted with black wheels, led light bars, TRD pro grills, raptor lights, etc).

I want a reliable truck that will last a long time but also be able to go offroad and drive in rugged places. I want it to look cool as well

Benefits have been greatly improved traction in most conditions haven’t been in snow as of yet with wheel slip. Where I need 4wd before at the beach I can mob on through in 2wd. Acts like a normal open diff under regular commuting. Wet and uphill climbs for example a boat ramp has been easy.
Down side was initial cost and not as effective as a locker but with e-brake engaged 3/4 of the way it’ll engage if one wheel is off the ground if your wheeling.

First thing I would do is go wheeling so all that extra crap on the outside gets ripped off.

Thank you for the information. Was this a personal install or was this a mechanical kind of install?

If you have the skills it wouldn’t be to bad I didn’t feel comfortable with my skill level and had a local guy do it who’s way smarter than myself. I didn’t need a ring and piñon rebuild kit or anything like that just a new 3rd member gasket and gear oil.

Retrofit HID projectors, short antenna, anytime fog, pop n lock, tailgate anti theft by @christian06 are a few of my favorite mods. These mods seem universally liked by the most.

Yes, you wanted to know what everyone would recommend doing to your new truck. I'd remove all that junk that looks like it came from AutoZone or JC Whitney. Running boards are for old timers and posers. Rock sliders are for real men.

Then I'd take in the woods and beat it.
