So I stocked up... on Cherries. Yup Luxardo cherries are from Italy. I don’t want my mixed drinks to suffer with a defect in the supply chain.:anonymous: I have been spoiled wont be happy with an inferior cherry.

I have a new go-to local shop! They soft opened last night, but I managed to get over there during lunch today and picked up these beauties. Their allocated shelf had the Jr., Blanton's, ER, EHT SiB and SB. I could only pick one so of course I went with the Jr. batch 13!

Just purchased these for the first time.
They’re good, but not sure they’re $20 good.

Key words in bold. Anyone who tells you you're enjoying your drink incorrectly can fuck off.

I’m enjoying my bottom of the barrel Bullet Old Fashioned right now. On the account that it’s doing the same thing all whisky does, make me tipsy.

Eh. I'll agree with this, to an extent. Most alcohols can be drank however you want as long as you're enjoying them; neat, rocks, soda, mixers, whatever. But if you're pouring 8oz of soda water over a dram of $200 scotch and plopping some ice cubes in it...it's safe to say that you're doing it 'wrong', at least in terms fully enjoying what makes that particular spirit worth that kind of money.
You're obviously welcome to do it. But I'd still cry a little if I saw it happening. :notsure:
It's the booze-y equivalent of taking a gorgeous prime rib and cooking it into boot leather, then smothering it with ketchup

I've been increasing my stores in case of a breakdown in the distiller/transportation/store/my liquor cabinet chain. Finally got my hands on Oak Cross from Compass Box. I've been wanting to try this for some time. I think this bottle will move to the front of the lineup in the effort to ward off Covid from the inside out. Anyone out there tried this one?

Oh yeah. I've had it. Good stuff. That was my gateway drug in to Compass Box.

Broke into one of my smaller bottles of Islay for a birthday dram. I'd have brought back a bigger bottle if I'd known the price on it was going to go so crazy, though. This summer it was a $65-70 dollar 750ml bottle around here, and now they're pushing $100 or more. :spending:

And, since tomorrow's the first day of spring and I was shaving the 'winter beard' anyway I took advantage of the opportunity and rubbed a little Swanson on it.
