Be with her, hold her hands and caress her brow. There is nothing else that compares to the touch of a loved one, trust me, pets have this one down pat. Wear a mask and wash up(shower more often too) after each visit but be with her as much as you can. She really should be under a trained eye and possibly on a ventilator regardless of whether it’s “just” the flu or Covid19. With her symptoms either one is serious.

I'm pretty sure as someone who works in healthcare they wouldnt have let her go if she required a ventilator. Let's not cause OP more panic from untrained, interwebs diagnoses. But yes the other interventions you mentioned are great.

My whole family came down with a wicked flu / respiratory thing in January after coming back from Disney World, mom had walking pneumonia, Dad had "bronchitis" for a month, brother too. I got something, but then again being at the hospital / school, its always something, lol. Point being this has been around since November and who knows for how long its been out and about undetected. I bet there are a few people outside China that had it prior to it becoming front page news, but it has been a wicked flu season too.

Thanks for all the love and positivity. I want everyone to know we appreciate all the kindness and offers to drop off supplies. Here’s some more info for everyone who’s keeping in tuned with what’s going on.

My fiancée received tests for the following

    -Influenza A
    -Influenza B
    -Pneumonia
    -Bronchitis

    All were negative.

After receiving negative results for all previous tests, she was then issued the COVID19 test.

We are still waiting for the COVID19 test results. It’s been 5 days since she started coughing. She’s had a fever for 4 of them. We still can’t break it. As of now it’s at 101. She still has trouble breathing, and the cough hasn’t changed.

My daughter remains healthy as we head into tomorrow and our 6th day of this nightmare.

My cough is getting worse but still no fever. I’m assuming the virus affects people differently and am truly hoping it skips my daughter. The fear of seeing her go through what my fiancée has... is something I can’t shake.

My fiancée is 25 years old. I myself am 28. And our baby girl has just turned 1.

will update again when I can.

I know there's little real world info out there, but if it might help any, I'm in Canada and have a friend who's wife, daughter (a nurse) and granddaughter (3) all tested positive but other than a slight cold the grand daughter hasn't slowed down a bit. His wife has the equivalent of a bad cold/flu. And the daughter (25) is somewhere in the middle. He has no symptoms. All the best luck for a speedy recovery.

Do what you think is best but don’t be shy about being pushy if that’s what it takes to get her noticed. A prolonged fever that high is not something to pass off. There isn’t any cure but she may need more fluids than you can get into her at home. Please contact your primary care physician in the morning and fill them in on the length and severity of the symptoms.

I would really push to have your daughter away from your fiancée as much as possible, and that even includes you. The immune system of a one year old is not nearly as strong, but you know this already. Saying this from personal experience unfortunately.

Keep pushing on and kicking ass, can’t wait to hear word of her feeling much better!!!

Your daughter will be fine. Not one person under the age of nine has had anything more then mild symptoms. Don’t throw yourselves that mental mind fuck. Think of how many children have been around infected people in Italy, South Korea, and China.
