I have never had interest, and still don't. But when shares of CCL are under $10, it's purely a gambling move, hoping they recover and people start going on cruises again in the next few years.

Here in GA, where folks can drive to any of five cruise ports in a day, folks going on cruises is pretty common. Has been for years. And I fully expect it will be again, though I suspect more folks will buy travel insurance than had previously been doing so.

I am originally from FL, so I agree. This will blow over. We used to take cruises all the time when I was a kid. There have been other viruses on cruise ships and it doesn't stop people (norovirus).

It wouldn't be my main source. It's an idea I've had. Give myself 500 bucks a month to day trade for fun. Or 200. If I make money, I can use that extra earnings to trade more. If not, I stop after pulling in x amount per month. Problem is I work 9 to 5. If I was on second shift I'd probably be on this for sure and at least do the morning stretch.

I'm in negative earnings for both 401k and Roth. My hsa is still positive since it's not invested yet.

I are engineer. Problem is with modern rules and regs the ferarris of the past are gone. We can engineer an efficient and powerful engine but it's not efficient enough. For there to be a new ranger like the old one in size it needs to pull like 35mpg or something stupid. So technically by footprint the Tacoma is a mid range truck according to Cafe so it doesn't need to get better mpg.

There is one car that needs a team of people and you basically disassemble it. Batteries are heavy so a quick swap isn't something a lot of average Joe's could do. We'd have to build basically a car wash type machine that does it all.

My theory is that one day the car will park itself on top of a wireless charging pad. But that's still not a solution for otg recharge. Solar probably couldn't handle all the modern tech and computers in cars.

When gas was on the rise I'd fill up all the time just to get a lower price. Now it's like a waiting game to see how low I can get the needle.

For investing, it's a short term gamble. As far as actual cruises, nah not interested either.

That's not really what I was saying. I was just saying that in 100 years, there's no telling what we will have. The world may be over, or we may have flying cars, or we may be able to teleport. I was just saying that literally anything can happen in the future, and I am sure batteries that never die will come.

Sold a growth fund mutual fund today that only lost 10% to beef up my cash position. Disconcerting when the brokerage account was at 60k less than a month ago and now its waaaaay below that LOL!!

I am past $40k down now. Won’t sell, no matter what. I am buying though, just wish I had more money freed up.

Are you managing to ignore your portfolio value at this point? I can't seem to look away, like a crazy house fire in a bad dream where all I can do is watch because my legs don't work. I am learning though, quality means a lot more than I thought it did.

The theoretical concept in the paper I read involved a modular battery in the undercarriage which could be dropped/swapped via mechanical system embedded in a pit - not unlike an oil change pit.

Clearly that hasn't come to market. I don't need to iterate the myriad barriers to that being adopted. So while technically feasible, other factors will prevent it from seeing light of day.

I needed gas and was at Sam's. I don't really tend to chase prices.

Yup, everything goes up. I am learning the importance of quality though, and what holds up well in this type of market. I wish I had focused more on companies like AAPL, KO, PEP, PG, GIS, T, VZ, TROW, etc......

I learned that too buddy. I used to invest in stuff without even really knowing what it was. Just because it said something about “cloud based computing” in the name or whatever

Yup i have been ignoring, today was the first time I opened my account since I sold since the 1st week of the market sell off where I took some profits and sold 10% into cash. Been watching CNBC during the day and listening to some various economic podcasts to figure out what's really going on with this from both a world economy, business and personal finance standpoint. The market had been swinging too wildly to watch my portfolio unless I was a day trader or in options, which I am neither. Im stressed out enough as it is without watching that LOL!!

I'm more concerned with WTF the plan is if they do a national shelter in place. How will Bill's work during that time period? You would have to suspend mortgages and utility payments. Less than half the American workforce can just work from home. If they have a good plan for that I may buy some stocks.

TIF just had an attempted hostile takeover and they halted trading on it. I didn't even think about these happening!! Wild times!
