At the very least call a doctor. A prolonged fever above 102 is not the common cold. Do whatever it takes to get them both taken care of. I can’t imagine what you’re going through, all I can do is help you along. Even though my father was an anesthesiologist I’m not big on doctor visits but in this case I have to say your situation is why there are professionals to diagnose patients and hospitals to care for the truly ill. Please get them that care.

Hopefully she recovers quick. First responders are saying an approximate 8 week wave of cases, most will recover if there aren’t any underlying conditions.

Still doesn’t make it any less scary. Hopefully you’re able to lean on some people nearby and get the supplies you need. Stay positive and catch up on netflix, don’t focus on the doom and gloom media

Sorry to hear man. My wife is awaiting results now (though with much more mild symptoms), so don’t feel like you’re alone in this situation right now.

There are also a few ‘positives’ if it’s any consolation:

    • In her age group, the likelihood of recovery is extremely high
    • If it is Covid-19, it’s actually good that she’s being treated now. There is capacity at most hospitals, the majority of hospitals still have full supplies, they’re still staffed (majority of drs/nurses aren’t sick).
    • She has a good support system (w/ you). Having hope & peace of mind is extremely important to those in recovery.

Keep your spirits up & you’ll be in our thoughts.

Although it really saddens me to hear she got sick, all the data thus far indicates that she'll be OK and probably have mild symptoms compared to you guys. But, it's still sad of course because a 1 year old doesn't know what's going on or why they feel bad and that makes you as a parent feel awful.

I would give her some infant/toddler Tylenol to help with the fever and any body aches she might have. We gave it to our 2 month old when she got her vaccines and had a fever from them, and it helped immensely.

Good luck. Get symptomatic relief for them, have someone drop it off.

Telehealth stuff if you have it available.

Hey OP, what blood type are you and the fiancee?

I, like Joe, am pretty sure that I had it back in late January. Me and the girlfriend had a severe (103+) fever for nearly a week, with some coughing. No sinus or running nose. Took a week to burn it off, and an additional week or two for the cough to fully subside.

My girlfriend was tested for everything and it came back negative (before COVID-19 was a big deal here) so they told us to come back if it was serious.

Praying for you and everyone else experiencing this. Keep your mental state of mind positive and calm.

What meds was your fiance taking for the fever?

With infants we would go back and forth between acetaminophen and a fever reducer that didn't impact or react with the acetaminophen

It's the worst seeing someone you love suffer while you feel helpless isnt it? smh...Prayers for you and the fam OP. You guys stay strong and and believe that you WILL get through this because YOU WILL. Although I don't want to downplay the severity of the virus, the data I've seen shows they have a VERY good chance of a full recovery.

@J_Anthony_ You're doing an awesome job trying to keep up with everything and take care of both of them. Stay strong during these hard times. I can only imagine what you must be going through, and how nerve-racking it must be. Think positive. Take time to take care of yourself and eat. They need you! I'm shattered to hear your story, but thank you for sharing. Thanks to everyone else supporting him too. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

So sorry this is happening OP.

You are doing everything you can at this point. Try to stay calm (I know that's difficult) and stay vigilant. Fluids, rest and Tylenol or whatever anti inflammatory your Dr recommends and stay home. Reach out if you need anything. Plenty of people in here to help you and yours through this!

This is my worst fear. My kids getting sick.

Your own kids being sick is the worst. Best thing is to just be there for them. Gotta stay strong for your ladies.

There's no proof that Ibuprofen is bad to take with CV19, it's all speculation. A French medical adviser said not to and everyone started repeating it, but there's no proof behind what he said yet.
