What causes the lower control arm to seize up? It was brought to my attention that most of the LCA’s in Toyota’s all do it at some point. Considering mine is an ‘09 they might be old but there’s only 45,000 miles on the truck. What do you think? Reason why I’m asking is because I’m getting my lift installed next weekend.

Road salt, rust etc. causes them to seize up.

Usually corrosion over time.. I soaked mine daily with penetrating oil for a week or so before installing my lift and getting alignment.. I’m not sure if they were seized to begin with but the alignment guy didn’t have any problems.

    Somewhere probably
    Vehicle:
    Off-road Tenthouse
    an empty wallet
They dont antiseize or grease the sleeve from the factory so grime corrodes and seizes the bolt.

I just heavily sprayed the tops of the control arms where the bolts go thru the bushings with Kano penephrite so it could hopefully soak down inside them.

Okay good to know. Did you spray it onto anything in the rear?
