    I am using a Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX, it has vehicle information built into the headunit for vehicles that utilize climate control and vehicle info through the OEM radio. I have it paired up with a Maestro RR to retain factory steering wheel controls and antennas and then it just has an OBD plug that pops into the connector for the tire pressure, temps, fuel range, RPM, Speed etc etc.

    I have a thread HERE detailing my stereo system install if you'd care to take a look.

    Interesting. Im sure it helps but i have always liked how tucked the stock pan is up under the truck... damn thing already has 11qts in it stock.

    Yes Allen bolts. Did a retorque a few days later. No leaks to date. About 10K miles since the change.

    That’s total capacity including cooler and torque converter. Not what’s in the pan. The pan holds about 4 qrts. This pan is about 7.

    White, debadged, Mudflaps removed, ICON 2.5 in front, 2.0 in rear, all 4 corners have reservoirs, Spidertrax wheel spacers all around, BAMF bolt on sliders, Avid lightbar, oem transmission cooler converted to power steering cooler, aftermarket transmission cooler eliminating all oem transmission cooler stuff, remote mounted spin on transmission fluid filter TrueTrac rear differential, rear diff housing vented and filtered into left side bed box, URD MAF calibrator, Volant intake scoop into oem airbox, second filter removed, airbox internals smoothed, blended and polished throttle body, NST intake manifold spacer, Wet Okolee set covers, WeatherTech Digital Fit mats, inexpensive JVC single DIN, Scangage, AVS Stepshield door sill protectors, Doug Thorley Long Tube Headers, URD Y pipe with O2 sims.
    Could not find any photos of when I installed the setup in my truck. Likely here somewhere or on a storage drive stashed away. Planned to go get some photos for you folks, but with the grill installed it was a bit of a waste.

    I will say, on my install, I did position both fittings at the top and the core segments are horizontal.

    Wanted to also say that prior to installing my trans cooler setup, engine coolant temp was about 186*f. After installing the cooler it runs at 190*f. Never been an issue, but the trans cooler being in front of the AC condenser and radiator, must be preheating the incoming airflow slightly.

    Still no regrets doing it. My primary concern was having the radiator fittings fail and getting coolant in the trans. Not as great of a concern on Tacomas, but other Toyota vehicle are known for the Strawberry Milkshake.

    I'm curious,why didn't you just completely bypass the radiator and run the biggest cooler you could as a standalone?

    More fluid for sure. Cooling I haven’t monitored it yet. I got for 150.00 when they where looking for test vehicles. As long as I have them my feed back. The drain plug has a magnet so no magnets in pan.

    How do you check fluid levels on that transmission pan?

    id imagine the same way you do on the stock one via the check bolt (which is probably spaced the same distance away from the valve body)

    There’s a check bolt your remove like the stock pan. The tube inside the pan is in the same location as the factory. The drain plug is on the other side.

    In my case, yes. Largest cooler that was reasonable, and did away with the original fluid to fluid heat exchanger running trans fluid through the radiator coolant.
