Hunting season and your DCSB Taco

Even though my Tacoma is not in th pic it was a fantastic sunset over the Modoc Wildlife Refuge(northeastern tip of California). Just finished a little duck hunting. Of course my Tacoma took me there.

 

if anyone has any antler sheds or take off you dont want, my dog needs some chew toys. dm me

 

Opening day’s take with the club in northeastern PA. About 400lb worth. Sadly none were mine but did transport them to the butcher.

 

No picture of him in my truck, but I nabbed this on Saturday in Southern IL.

Congrats! What species is that? Game farm? You must have to be fast in that heat. Do you butcher on site?

 

Looks like axis deer

 

Yea it’s an axis buck... no game farm, just a low fence ranch that I hunt. Been patterning him all summer on cameras and finally got lucky!

Just hung him off the back of the truck and got to work...

 

Well done! Do yall lease or public land? An axis deer is on my list, how is the meat?

I forgot to post mine this past season...

I had to drag him a mile to get him to the truck. No wheeled access of any kind allowed on that particular piece of public land.

 

Good times. I use to strap deer to the hood of a corolla. I would tie the legs to the mirrors.
